Jammu police under question mark as many police officials have become collection agents for powerful SHOs

JAMMU: Few lower rank police officials of Jammu police posted at different police stations of R.S Pura, Bishnah, Miran Sahib, border police post Kulian have become collection agents for few powerful SHOs.

Whether collecting money from mining  mafia, earning money from lodging of fake FIRs and from other renowned sources, these police officials have full backing of their SHOs. A police official posted at Bishnah thana known for collection from different sources was involved in a gruesome case, but he was not transferred despite facing severe allegation, instead he was suspended because he was absent from duties. Another  police official posted at Miran Sahib is also a collection agent for his SHO. One more police official posted at border police post Kulian has a bad reputation in public over corruption and a strong protest was lodged by public against him, but no body dared to shift him, because of having backing of a powerful SHO. Another police official posted at P/S Arnia is involved in overall collection from different sources. In a shocking event, a police official was transferred by former SSP Jammu on the complaint of public, but he has not been relieved yet from police station R.S Pura. Same activities are being carried on in Miran sahib police station by a lower rank police official because of having full shelter of his senior  officers. Now, the question arises, why SSP Jammu is not transferring erring police officials who have brought a bad name to Jammu police with their involvement in collection. There is a huge difference between the working of present SSP Jammu and former SSP Jammu. Former SSP Jammu, whenever informed about the presence of tainted police officials over collection, he always worked on specific inputs after clearing all aspects of public opinion, but the present SSP has not taken any action against erring police officials of lower ranks who have become collection agents for various SHOs. Top brass of police need to intervene why no such action has been taken against those police officials who are having poor credibility in the eyes of common man and police stations Bishnah, Miran Sahib, BPP Kulian, R.S Pura, Arnia are the main areas where these lower rank police officials are earning like anything with the full support of their SHOs. Why those police officials, who were transferred by former SSP Jammu have not been relieved yet. For saving the reputation of J&K police, these few police officials of lower rank need to be shifted from their present position and no action in this regard by SSP Jammu also needs to be inquired by top bra of J&K police.
