POONCH/JAMMU: LG J&K UT Manoj Sinha has initiated a historic step by directing the Information department J&K, DCs and SSPs across the J&K UT to verify the credentials of media persons with an agenda of dismantling the fake media industry because it is seen that a big fake media ecosystem has been working against the national interest by running fake and selective narratives to dodge the nation, but it’s strange that such a dangerous mindset against the nation has not been taken to task by the union government. 
The majority of such media persons are active only on the social media platforms which don’t fall under the purview of the constitution of India, and due to this big loophole, anti-Bharat forces have been utilising the services of a large number of self-styled social media influencers who are illogically projecting themselves as journalists without knowing the real definitions of journalism. No doubt, a number of nationalist-minded and professionally strong digital, print and electronic media persons are also active on the social media platforms and are always seen working for the interest of the nation, but their percentage is not high as compared to the other fake brigade of media persons. The biggest threat to the nation is that they are digital soldiers of anti-national brigades who always believe in running fake narratives against the national interest. In the Jammu region, they run stories on the “Bhaichara” of the Jammu region to suit their personal interest, but at the same time, they never projected the issue of “No bhaichara” in the Kashmir region because this is against their anti-Bharat agenda. They never ran stories on why Kashmiri Pandits and other nationalists were thrown out of the valley and still have not been allowed to come back to Kashmir? These are the same social media persons who never ran stories against Hurriyat and Pakistan-backed terrorism for years on their social media handles. During the recent past, intelligence agencies have exposed a big white-collar terror module that was working against the nation and was planning to launch multiple attacks across various cities in the country, but this anti-national media ecosystem never uttered a single word against the doctors-turned-terrorists module, which was working against the nation. This ecosystem never condemned terrorism, OGWs, separatist forces and other acts of the terror industry but was always seen coming in support of all the “traitors” by running selected stories in their favour by questioning the government. A number of professional police officers in J&K who have carved a niche for themselves in the fight against militancy for decades also remained the target of this anti-national media ecosystem. As the majority of social media news anchors are not professionally qualified in journalism, they are always seen running an agenda journalism, which definitely suits the interest of Pakistan and its supporters. The track record of such an ecosystem is clearly in front of all that they even ran stories against the Indian Army when the country’s pride, the army, took some tough decisions against the terror ecosystem by dismantling its infrastructure across the J&K. This fake media brigade never stood with the security forces that have been fighting a long war against Pakistan and other enemies of Bharat for years, and it clearly amounts to an act of “disloyalty” to the nation. Even after Operation Sindoor, this ecosystem was seen targeting the government on various illogical pretexts. Shockingly, those anti-nationals, who remained involved in various anti-national acts for years and gave a market shutdown call and took out a procession in support of a famous terrorist who was killed on 8th of July, 2016 by the security forces, were projected as positive thinkers, patriots and prominent social workers by this anti-national media ecosystem. They always glorified the stone pelters in Kashmir who had a habit of attacking J&K police, CRPF and army personnel. In short, they always opposed nationalist sentiments by glorifying anti-nationals across the country. Media persons need to understand that the law of the land and national interest are supreme and nothing else, and if the media persons unfortunately think of themselves as ultimate, then they are definitely living in a fool’s paradise. No doubt the media field has become a profession of blackmailing for many unprofessional people in this field who never hesitate in selling their soul just for a bottle of whisky or a cup of tea, managing fake identity cards of news platforms, running fake narratives by getting money or an award, getting a pat from officers on their back by working for them as touts, seeking a big award from top chairs by misrepresenting facts in their favour, misusing officers’ links by harassing common men, or seeking personal and business interest from those in power in the civil administration, police and army setups. Because a number of members of this anti-national media ecosystem have no concern for the nation and national interest, they always believe in agenda journalism against the nation to suit the interests of Pakistan and other anti-national brigades that are operating in the country. The majority of such persons think of themselves as most powerful, having the ability to hit anybody for their self-interest through their mobile and mike, but they don’t know anything about real journalism of the national interest, and due to this anti-national gang of unprofessional people in the social media field, the credibility of social media journalism has been declining as it has become a fake narrative industry against the national interest and national security. The footprints of the anti-national media ecosystem are so strong that any event taking place in any part of the country is seen as backed by these gang members from other parts of the country to assure the nation that whatever they are projecting is true, even if the facts are otherwise. As some of these social media influencers were seen glorifying the terror industry by running fake narratives by relating it to the failure of the government, it is seen as a dangerous trend in the making for which the union government needs to introduce strict laws to ensure only professionals survive in the media field and not non-professionals with the anti-national media ecosystem background. Although, on the directions of LG J&K UT, Manoj Sinha, an exercise has started to identify fake journalists; the same needs to be taken to its logical conclusion in the interest of national security, as the same gang members entering vital security installations as social media persons to get important inputs for the enemies cannot be ruled out in the future. The terror ecosystem team has attackers, midfielders, defenders and bench strength, and this anti-national media ecosystem plays as a defender in support of their midfielders and attackers, as this whole ecosystem plays in a strategic way against the nation. It’s high time for the government to identify the real culprits in the social media who are daydreaming of being powerful by working against the national interest and national security by running fake narratives because nobody is supreme over the national interest. Media freedom doesn’t mean that one’s own interest and anti-national agenda are supreme over the law of the land and the national security, as the media freedom is being used in a wrong way by this anti-national media ecosystem.
