POONCH: The Poonch district administration seems to be nowhere, as the city has been facing a huge water crisis, but the inability of DC Poonch and X. En Jal Shakti Poonch’s attempt to address the issue has caused a huge inconvenience to the people. Jal Shakti officials behave in questionable ways, as they used to say, “Light nahi hai, motor kharab hai,” and likewise similar excuses. 
In almost every mohalla of Poonch city, the story is the same, as people while talking to “POONCH TODAY” said that the Jal Shakti department is known for huge financial frauds over the years, but the concerned officials have failed to strengthen the water supply system on the ground. DC Poonch, who is the head of the district, has shown the least interest in addressing the issue of huge public importance. Despite his regular meetings with various departments, there is no output on the ground. The X.En Jal Shakti Poonch has remained a non-performer in coming up to the expectations of the people. There is a huge hue and cry in the district over the water crisis, but by the way, the administration has ignored the issue; it raises a big question mark over the J&K Government’s claims of providing a regular water supply to the people. The sitting cabinet minister of Jal Shakti is nowhere and seems to be busy in other activities, least bothered about the horrible state of affairs in the city of Poonch related to his department. The water crisis in the city of Poonch has spread like a wildfire, but the Jal Shakti department has become totally non-operational in addressing the issue. The ongoing water crisis has become a routine affair, but the concerned authorities have mostly ignored the issue. Will the higher authorities of the government intervene to address the issue because the concerned officers of the department have become poor performers, least bothering about providing a regular water supply to the people of Poonch city?
