Addl SSP Poonch Sheikh Khalid Amin declares open 30^th District Table Tennis championship

POONCH:  30^th District open Table tennis championship, today, declared open by Addl SSP Poonch Sheikh Khalid Amin in presence of prominent citizens of Poonch.

The championship is being organised by District T.T Association Poonch under the aegis of J&K Table tennis association. Dy.SP HQRS Mudassir Choudhary, Dy.SP Ops Munish Sharma, SHO Poonch S.D Singh were also present on the occasion and were honoured by the association. Earlier, Er Saleem Bandey, Gen Secy of the association shed  a light on the history of Table tennis in Poonch. Bandey said that association fought for indoor sports complex for 25 years and now after getting this indoor facility, the game of Table tennis is likely to flourish further. President of the association Ajeet Singh Jeet exhorted upon the participants to play the tournament with discipline and show true sportsmanship. Prof Dr Jasbir Singh, Riaz Ahmed, Narinder singh PEM, Jagjit Singh, Salil Raina, Sandeep Luthra, Nirdosh Kumar  Incharge Sports stadium, Pawan Sharma, Matinder Pal Singh, Kewal Krishan, Manmohan Suri, Sanjay were also present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Addl SSP Poonch Sheikh Khalid Amin appreciated the contribution of T.T association Poonch in promoting the game in Poonch which is considered as a border district. Addl SSP also urged the young players to use their energy in positive direction as they are the builder of nation. He assured full support of Police. Pardeep Khanna, renowned Anchor conducted the proceedings of the opening ceremony.   On the first day, matches in Cadet and Sub junior  categories were played.  In Cadets Gursheesh bt Waseem 11-9,11-9, Adnan bt Parseen 11-5,11-9. In Cadet final Adnan bt Gursheesh 11-9, 7-11, 12-10. In Sub-Junior Pranav by Gursheesh 11-8, 11-6, Akshit by Waseem 11-9,11-4, Pratham Suri bt Kamran 11-9,11-3, Ehsaan bt Mousin 11-7,11-3, Adnan bt Luthra. The matches were held under the supervision of Salil Raina and Narinder Singh
