Bridging the Divide- Confronting Rural Health Disparities and Building Healthier Communities: Dr Sushil
Bridging the Divide- Confronting Rural Health Disparities and Building Healthier Communities: Dr Sushil POONCH TODAY...

It is pertinent to mention here that this Poonch-Rajouri belt remained a terrorism-prone belt, but the strong and professional role played by J&K police, the Indian Army, and other paramilitary forces helped the region become terrorism-free years ago. But after the abrogation of temporary articles 370 and 35-A, security forces were able to make the Kashmir region almost terrorism-free. Feeling pressure there, Pakistan reportedly changed its strategy and started focusing on the Jammu region, particularly the Poonch-Rajouri belt, and over the last three years, some major terrorism incidents have been executed on the ground by Pakistan. Among those incidents, Dhangri and BG are considered the big ones. But, the other day, Poonch district witnessed a sudden rise in terrorism attempts, and in one of the incidents in the Shindra area of Surankote, the Indian Army and Poonch police were able to neutralize four foreign terrorists amid a huge exchange of fire that lasted one full night. A huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered after the incident, which included 4 A.K. rifles, 2 pistols, 8 A.K. magazines, 3 pistol magazines, 192 A.K. rounds, and 26 rounds of pistol. A.K. rifles are of Chinese mark, and pistols are of Pakistani mark. Addressing the media, Commander 6 Sector R.R. Brig M.P. Singh and SSP Poonch Vinay Kumar assured the people that they would leave no stone unturned in ensuring that peace and stability in the region remained their top priorities. Sharing operational details, the commander of 6 Sector R.R. said that on July 16, an input was generated about the presence of foreign militants, and accordingly, under Operation Trinetra, which was in full swing for three months, an operation was launched in the Shindra area. A cordon was readjusted, and contact was established on July 17. Firing was started, and we readjusted the cordon to ensure militants were neutralized. Paracommandos were called for the said operation. The firing continued the whole night, and during this firing, security forces were able to neutralize four terrorists. Brigadier M.P. Singh assured the people that the army and police expected more results as Operation Trinetra was in full swing. SSP Poonch Vinay Kumar said that this operation was a perfect example of synergy between the Army, Police, intelligence agencies, and other paramilitary forces. SSP said that Poonch will be made militancy-free soon as the forces are getting huge support from the public.
