JAMMU: For the very first time in the Jammu division, big projects under smart city were taken up by the J&K government, in which plans were formulated to give a new look to important places of Jammu city under the Jammu smart city project to transform the city of temples by all means, and in the first instance, a new look has been given to the 600-meter Apsara market stretch.

The beautification of this stretch was a major component of this project. Earlier, huge efforts were made by CEO Jammu Smart City Rahul Yadav to upgrade and modernize the road network of 13.5 km in the Gandhi Nagar belt. This Apsara road has been converted into a high-street road-like road in megacities around the world. It will attract more tourists to the area, and due to the maximum flow of tourists, business and entertainment activities are likely to increase. This project was inaugurated and dedicated to the people by LG Manoj Sinha the other day, in the presence of a galaxy of people who have appreciated the efforts of the J&K government. On the occasion, the LG said, “Our prime objective is to transform Jammu City into a center of opportunities for all sections and develop it as an engine of growth and also an incubator for young entrepreneurs in J&K UT. We are ensuring that basic utilities are upgraded to meet demand, and it is inclusive and sustainable to handle growing urbanization.” Rakesh Suri, a cloth merchant running his business near the Apsara high street area, said, “I never expected this in Jammu city, but the efforts of the LG’s government are appreciable. Now, after seeing this, I hope that many important areas of Jammu City will be like Apsara High Street.” He added, “JMC Commissioner and CEO Jammu Smart City, Rahul Yadav, really has done a wonderful job for the Jammu people.” CEO Jammu Smart City, Rahul Yadav, said, “After this smart city project, two more street development projects, one from Mubarak Mandi to Chowk Chabutra and the other in the Raghunath bazaar, will be completed. We also tried to give a new look to Bawe Wali Mata Road.” He further said that the people of Jammu have given a positive response to all developmental activists under the smart city project, and wherever any issue was raised, efforts were made to sort out all issues. We are going to start more projects to give Jammu City a new look. It is important to mention here that under the smart city projects, various works are going on to give a new look to Jammu city, which include the Tawi River Front, Heritage Conservation, rejuvenation of water bodies, waste management, the Blue Green Project of Ranbir Canal, and the addition of more electric buses.
