Despite installing 50 MVA at Draba by JKPDC, Poonch still facing long power cuts

POONCH: When JKPDC installed 50 MVA transformer at Draba last year, Executive Engineer told “POONCH TODAY” that district has a load of 80 MVA and the availability of power was 45 MVA and after the installation of 50 MVA at Draba, JKPDC will get additional 30 MVA and total comes to 75 MVA.

He also said that out of total 80 MVA, Poonch will get 75 MVA and it will help in massive reduction in power cuts. But what happened to the statement of Executive Engineer as Poonch continues to face eight to nine hours power curtailment. On one hand, whole district is facing power crisis, but on the other hand, leadership community of Poonch is in deep slumber as no body has come openly to raise the demand of regular power supply. Are people of Poonch destined to face eight to nine hours power curtailment? Business community has already suffered a lot due to COVID and now, when things starts settling down after unlocking process, now power crisis has started to hit business community in particular and Poonchities in general. District administration also seems to be in slumber as no concrete efforts are going on to address this most burning issue of the public in this hours of extreme humid conditions. Will administration and JKPDC come to the rescue of people? Only time will tell.
