POONCH: R.R. Swain, former DGP of J&K police, who is a staunch Indian known for his spymaster skills and also for his utmost professional brilliance, the other day, revealed a huge secret when he said that Syed Ali Shah Geelani, on the directions of Pakistan, used to dominate the affairs of the successive J&K governments. Swain, who needs no introduction, was talking to a Jammu-based portal, “TSL”.
The former J&K police chief, in his shocking revelations, questioned the former Chief Minister, who thanked Pakistan for the successful conduct of the 2014 assembly elections in J&K. On the issue of the deliberate projected silence in Kashmir, which could explode any time, Swain candidly said that it was nothing but a tactfully created false narrative to hoodwink the nation. He said that the common man of Kashmir is happy with the all-round development, but only those who remained part and parcel of the conflict industry are highly disturbed after the abrogation of temporary articles 370 and 35-A. Such a shocking revelation from a person of the stature of R.R. Swain clearly indicates the horrible state of affairs in J&K, where separatist forces had an upper hand in important affairs of J&K. Swain further said that the fake narrative industry of Kashmir dominated the affairs at the national level for decades, and due to that fake propaganda, successive union governments at the centre could not muster the guts to take on anti-national forces, fearing imaginary disruption in law and order problems. The statements of R.R. Swain assume huge significance as the nation saw the stone-pelting incidents for years. Pro-Pak ‘Azadi slogans’, ‘Hartal calendars’ and glamorising terrorist killings remained the continued affairs in Kashmir for years, but after the abrogation of temporary articles 370 and 35-A, things have changed drastically. Still, the remaining soldiers of the conflict industry are busy running fake narratives that the ongoing silence of Kashmir can explode any time, and Swain has bluntly exposed this fake narrative gang. In one more shocking revelation, Swain said that no inquiry was ever conducted on the issue of civilian killings in Kashmir and indirectly hinted about the mass exodus of Kashmiri pundits in 1989-90. Who allowed the continuous rise of anti-national sentiments in Kashmir? Which political parties actively collaborated with the separatist forces who received full support from Pakistan to manage their political affairs? Why was no effort made for several decades to bring Kashmiri Pundits back to the valley? Why can non-Kashmiris not buy land in Kashmir? These are the highly sensitive issues which need a detailed investigation and further actions to demolish the anti-national forces in Kashmir which wreaked havoc for decades. It is for the very first time that a high-level dignitary of the calibre of R.R. Swain has brought this thing into the public domain, and the silence of powerful Kashmir-based political parties, which dominated the J&K affairs with the indirect support of separatist forces, justified the fact that whatever was said by R.R. Swain is a total and harsh reality of which the entire nation was not aware. It’s a big question mark also on the successive union governments that remained mute spectators over the horrible state of affairs in J&K for decades. The large-scale influence of separatist forces backed by Pakistan in the J&K government affairs for years is no less than a huge shocker for the entire nation. A few weeks ago, a former advisor to former Governor Satya Pal Malik, in his book, also mentioned that Jamaat had a huge influence in the J&K government, in which many officials from top to bottom worked as true soldiers of Jamaat, thereby indirectly implementing the agenda of Pakistan in J&K. Now, Swain has brought the curtains down on the horrifying history of J&K that remained a secret affair due to the huge and open involvement of prominent valley-based powerful political parties that enjoyed power for decades. The same political parties tried their best to disturb the Panchaldhaar (Poonch and Rajouri) and Chenab valley regions after the killing of a famous terrorist on the 8th of July 2016, as the Jamaat men carried out huge processions in front of J&K police officials in favour of the said terrorist, but due to the direction of the then political government in J&K, police officers remained mute spectators over the alarming rise of anti-national sentiments in Poonch. What the former DGP R.R. Swain has said needs to be well documented to show the entire nation how terrible the state of affairs was in J&K, in which the successive political governments and separatist forces were working to dodge the entire nation, ultimately to fulfil the decades-old agenda of Pakistan. For the sake of national security interests and for the peaceful future, it would be better if the union government set up a high-level commission to conduct a deep, hard and never-before-seen investigation in Kashmir from the 1980s onwards to bring to book those who played their mischievous roles in all forms against the nation. The well-planned Kashmiri Pandit exodus, rise of anti-national sentiments in Kashmir and host of other issues of national concern need a befitting retribution from the union government in the interest of peace for the generations to come. If the former DGP R.R. Swain mustered the guts to spill the beans, the other nationalist forces who remained in important positions in J&K also need to narrate their experiences to the nation to expose all the anti-national forces, no matter how big they are, because exposing Pakistan and its soldiers in Kashmir is the moral responsibility of all the nationalist forces.
