Hence proved! Revenue department Poonch is a hub of multiple land frauds; DC Poonch shows revenue officials their tangible place

POONCH: Time and again exposed by “POONCH TODAY newspaper that massive revenue frauds were scripted by various revenue officials over the years, but, government never took to task those, who were involved in brazen land frauds.

But, few days back, DC Poonch Inderjit shoot out an explanation letter to all Tehsildars and Niab Tehsidars, directing them to explain their position for not taking action against illegal encroachment on State/ Common/Kahcharai land including poor performance regarding completion of Jamabandies and illegal conversion of agriculture lands. The issue of illegal mining was also discussed in the letter of DC Poonch. This strong action of DC Poonch shows that district administration   has accepted that massive loot was going on in revenue department Poonch and many revenue officials were involved in various lands frauds including their involvement in thousands of illegal mutation’s. How a large chunk of agriculture land near S.K bridge and flood zone  was converted into commercial land? How large number of government lands and buildings were illegally transferred in revenue record? How various prime government forest lands are still under illegal occupation? Why successive Tehsildars failed to take action on these brazen revenue frauds? Few Tehsildars working in Poonch district have deputed their touts for projecting them as honest officers, but the latest action of DC Poonch shows that they are not so called honest, because they failed to take action on reported revenue frauds. Their silence on various revenue frauds in Poonch  shows that they are also working under a conspiracy, which has been going on from 1985 onwards against Poonch city with the involvement of various political, revenue officials and dutiful  leaders. With the neck deep involvement of revenue officials, many government buildings and lands were transferred illegally on the name of few dutiful institutions. Shocking factor is that a prime forest land, which cannot be transferred in any case, was also transferred illegally and this shows that a high level nexus was operating in revenue department Poonch. The other day, loss of revenue record of Poonch city also shows that, few revenue officials to hide their brazen misdeeds of the past scripted this well planned drama. It’s a very serious concern. Will revenue officials act on the latest directions of DC Poonch or will it be a futile exercise from DC Poonch? Only time will tell. Even, many revenue officials remained at one position for years and played their wrong role in changing of many records. The credibility of revenue department is all time low in the eyes of common man and government needs to rectify many historic blunders which were scripted by revenue officials over the years, to win public confidence back in the working of revenue department. Government must initiate an ACB or CBI inquiry to detect various land frauds right from 1985 onwards under which various revenue blunders were carried out and those leaders and revenue officials, who remained part and parcel of such blunders needs to be taken to task.
