Poonch BJP leaders provided much-needed relief to the people amid heavy Pakistani shelling; Former president Rajesh Raina led from the front

POONCH: In a rare gesture of public service during hours of crisis when the historic Poonch city was targeted badly by Pakistan with heavy shelling, a few BJP leaders stood strong for the people and provided every possible help to hundreds of people in the city.

Ex-councilor and former Poonch BJP president Rajesh Raina led from the front and did everything possible to help the people during hours of crisis. The biggest thing that came to the notice of “POONCH TODAY” was that the BJP leaders were available for the people without any media limelight and did all the public service silently. When contacted by “POONCH TODAY,” Rajesh Raina, ex-councilor and former Poonch BJP president, said, “Public service is in my genes, and I did nothing extraordinary. Service of people is service to God.” Rajesh further said, “There are clear-cut directions from our party high command to always be available for the public to address their concerns.” Rajesh Raina, who opened his personal property for the people, in which a bunker is also available with all the facilities, said he tried his best to satisfy people from every section of the society, elderly people, and children during hours of crisis. Rajesh even gave self-defense training to the kids who were living in the bunker for a few days to boost their morale. On the role of others, Rajesh said, “DC Poonch, SSP Poonch, ASP Poonch, and Dy.SP Hqrs also visited our bunker and appreciated our public service. I am thankful to Mr. Naresh Sharma and Ajay Raina for their support. A few youngsters like Ritik Verma, Tejinder Singh, Anshu Raina, Rajat Sharma, Shubam Sharma, Bhanu Sharma, and Sanjay Sharma also did a lot of public service. I am also thankful to Shri S.D. Sabha president Khetar Paul Sharma for his timely support, as I believe one should never miss an opportunity for public service.” Former Municipal Councilor and Vice President Naresh Sharma, while talking to “POONCH TODAY,” said that he, along with Vipul Sharma, who is also vice president of BJP, and his family tried their best to help the people during shelling. Naresh said, “We adjusted hundreds of people in the Sai School and near the Khakha Naban temple. We did our best to provide every kind of help to the people. I am highly thankful to the management of Sai School for helping the people during the shelling crisis. As Operation Sindoor has not finished yet, Rajesh Raina and Naresh Sharma have requested the higher authorities for the construction of bunkers in Poonch city without involving contractors and suggested that the people should be allowed to construct the bunkers on their own after getting designs and financing from the government, because if the government allows the contractors for the bunkers, there is every chance that contractors may apply with below rates that will ultimately lead to compromise with the quality of the bunkers, which would prove fatal for the people if Pakistani shelling takes place again.” The BJP leaders further said that they are loyal party workers and ever ready to obey the directions of their party high command in the future also. Former Poonch BJP president Rajesh Raina also thanked Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP general secretary Ashok Koul, LG Manoj Sinha, Delhi cabinet minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, LOP Sunil Sharma, BJP president Sat Sharma, and former BJP president Ravinder Raina for their wholehearted support to the people of Poonch. Such a positive gesture shown by these BJP leaders and a host of other people across the length and breadth shows that the people of Poonch are brave and everybody is ever ready to stand tall during hours of adversity.
