MENDHAR/JAMMU: In a positive and much-needed gesture for the Mendhar residents, the union government has approved the subsidized helicopter service for the border region, thereby bringing smiles to the faces of residents of Mendhar, which remained neglected from a developmental point of view for years.

IAS officer and son of the soil Mohd Aijaz Asad played a pivotal role in the starting of the service. Aijaz Asad, who is the administrative secretary of RDD and Civil Aviation, took this matter of public importance with the union government, and considering all aspects strongly projected by Aijaz Asad, the government has allowed the said service on the Jammu-Mendhar route. Although the service has not received a much-needed response on the Jammu-Poonch route, it is expected that the Mendhar residents will use the service frequently, going by the tough road network in the region, which is near the LOC. On the one hand, the political leadership of Mendhar, the district administration, and the district development council never worked on this idea due to a lack of a visionary approach, but on the other hand, Mohd Aijaz Asad, who knows the problems of the people at the grassroots level, took this much-needed initiative, which is purely in the interest of the common man of Mendhar, and it clearly shows that the IAS officer is blessed with a dedication and vision for the people. This service will definitely help the people of Mendhar during any type of medical emergency and will be accessible to those who are still deprived of road connectivity in far-flung areas of Mendhar. Since Mendhar is located near LOC, this service will help the important civil, police, and army dignitaries to reach the area on time during hours of important events from a security point of view. After the announcement of this subsidized helicopter service on the Jammu-Mendhar route, people of the border district of Poonch, especially the residents of Mendhar, have expressed their happiness to the government of India and son of the soil Mohd Aijaz Asad (IAS), administrative secretary of civil aviation, for this important gift. Aijaz Asad (IAS), who has already carved a niche for himself in the bureaucratic circle on account of his better public service and various visionary initiatives, has given a big surprise to the people of Mendar after ensuring the launch of the Jammu-Mendhar helicopter service.
