The trust remains ready to render services to the needy. Right from the onset of Covid and especially winters, Parmaarth have been acting as a helping hand for the sufferers. Like the previous years, starting from the eve of Diwali, Parmaarth has been donating warm clothes and other useful things to the orphans, old-aged and other needy people. Parmaarthis leave no festival pass as a black and white day for the poor and needy be it Diwali, Christmas, Lohri . Continuing the work, Parmaarth celebrated the pious Lohri Milan festival at Nari Niketan Orphanage, Poonch. Mangat Ram Sharma (Retd. Asst. Registrar) make children aware of the significance of Lohri. Around 55 girls reside in the orphanage, and the most important thing is that most of the girls belong to muslim community. With bonfire and fancy foods, they all celebrated Lohri with great fervour and enthusiasm. After performing the rituals and celebrating Lohri, shawls, woollen clothes, eatables and other essentials were provided to the children. Maulavi Farid Ahmed (Pir Panchal Trust), Dr. Sarfraz Mir (Chairman, Sir Syed Education Mission), Mohd Azam Rather (Social Welfare Officer), Sh. Mangat Ram Sharma and Mrs. Shagufta graced the occasion with their auspicious presence. Dr. Richa Sharma, Chairperson, Parmaarth: Service Before along with Shafiq Mir, Vishali Dhawan, Sanjana Sharma, Surjeet Kour, Balvinder Singh, Pranveer Singh and many other Parmaarthis spent quality time with the children and and made their Lohri memorable. Not only in Poonch, the members of the Trust including Parvek Thakur, Rahul Jamwal, Tarun Gupta and others celebrated Lohri at Jagti orphanage, Udhampur. Also, they distributed fancy foods and buckets among the children. The Trust has proved that love and kindness are above religion.
