POONCH: Shri Sanatan Dharma Sabha is the highest body of all the Sanatanis of the Poonch district, and for several decades, successive Pradhans played their positive role in strengthening Sanatan across the district. The S.D. Sabha and other religious institutions of the Sanatan in the Poonch district have huge properties, and some of them are under illegal occupations. Some self-styled religious contractors of Sanatan who used to show themselves as ultimate in the eyes of the district administration have captured huge property of Sanatan institutions, including shops, and give a meager amount as rent, which is questionable.

It’s the duty of the Pradhan Sanatan Dharam Sabha to re-establish the supremacy of the S.D. Sabha across the district, as some persons known for their questionable credentials are seen undermining the supremacy of the highest body of Sanatan in the district. A majority of management committees of various temples obey the orders of the Sanatan Dharam Sabha Poonch, but some major institutions of the Sanatan unfortunately undermine the supremacy of the S.D. Sabha Poonch, and some of these institutions, like Shri Dashnami Akhara Poonch and Shri Budha Amarnath Shrine Mandi, are totally under the grip of outside district political influence and VIP culture. Since S.D. Sabha represents the aspirations of the entire Sanatan of the district Poonch, how do some institutions use to undermine its supremacy? The status of S.D. Sabha Poonch is high, and no other religious committee of Sanatanis can stand in front of S.D. Sabha Poonch. By doing so, such institutions are openly demoralizing the precious Sanatan in the district. Every religious institution of Sanatan has its own committee, and the said committees used to run the affairs of their respective temples by taking S.D. Sabha in full confidence, but there are some self-styled committees that have been formed without taking S.D. Sabha on board in which many persons with no contribution to society have been included. Some committees have captured the properties of those temples by adjusting their nears and dears in the shops by taking a meager amount of rent, but the biggest question arises: why did the S.D. Sabha Poonch fail to take them to task, as a few people known for their political aspirations cannot take Sanatan for granted? A more shocking fact is that those appointed as head of a prominent religious institution by district administration Poonch on the recommendation of S.D. Sabha Poonch are also seen undermining the supremacy of the Sh. Sanatan Dharam Sabha of the Poonch district, which is the most debatable issue among the Sanatanis these days. Two major institutions of the Sanatan, which have national importance, are totally under the political influence and VVIP culture, and this has raised a big question mark on the silence of Sh Sanatan Dharam Sabha Poonch. The spiritual and historic tradition of Chhari Yatra changed a few years ago, and this unilateral decision of the Sh Dashnami Akhara committee has also shattered the morale of Sanatanis across the district, as people from every section of society used to participate in the Chhari Yatra for decades by organizing various stalls and langars, including a big langar at Chandak Higher Secondary School. That enthusiasm for participating in the Chhari yatra has gone down to a large extent over the years, and huge efforts are required to revive its traditional glory, as this yatra should not look like a long-distance marathon race. Both these Sanatan institutions have huge spiritual significance, but the emergence of VVIP culture and political interference have demolished the spiritual aura of these two Sanatan institutions. Some high-profile people are associated with these two institutions to fulfill their political ambitions only, as they have no concern for strengthening the Sanatan in the district. They are just settling their scores against their rivals. Due to various unilateral decisions of the management committee of Sh Dashnami Akhara Poonch, this highest seat of spiritual excellence has become a platform for political mileage and religious tourism, which is against the principles of spiritual excellence set by previous heads of Sh Dashnami Akhara Poonch. Earlier, the said committee was about to take some big decisions inside the temple premises without consulting the Sanatanis, but with the timely intervention of the Sanatanis, the management committee changed its decision. Spiritual places of huge power inside the Sh Dashnami Akhara temple were also addressed in a questionable manner by some members of the committee, and it also hurt the sentiments of Sanatanis. No doubt, the said committee has also taken some good developmental decisions by constructing new structures, but some of its actions related to political influence and political vendetta have come under a question mark. The two institutions of Shri Dashnami Akhara Poonch and Shri Budha Amarnath shrine represent the aspirations of the entire Sanatan of the Poonch district, but how could a few people belonging to these two institutions who remained totally under political influence manage to dictate terms to the Sanatanis of Poonch for years? Not only these two institutions of Sanatan, but there are a number of Sanatan religious institutions across the district that reportedly never preferred to take Sh S.D. Sabha on board as far as taking important decisions are concerned. As far as Poonch city is concerned, a number of Sanatan institutions have a number of shops that are under the control of some Sanatanis who are giving just a penny to the respective committees as rent, which is debatable. Some of these people have big names in society, but their conduct against the interest of Sanatan brings them to the list of questionable credential personalities of Sanatan. Being the highest Sanatan institution of the district, it’s the duty of Sh S.D. Sabha Poonch to address each and every issue of Sanatan, and those who used Sanatan for their personal self-interest for years and captured huge properties religiously in any kind must be taken to task for playing a double role, and let Sh S.D. Sabha remain the highest and strongest body of the Sanatan in implementing its writ across the district, and those who used to undermine its importance for their personal self-interest by showing their political and muscle power need to be exposed by Sh S.D. Sabha Poonch, as nobody is supreme in front of Sanatan and Sh S.D. Sabha Poonch. It’s shocking that the contribution of the late Yashpaul Sharma towards the Sanatan has not been recognized by the Sh S.D. Sabha, Sh Dashnami Akhara, or any other temple committee. Rather than recognizing the contribution of the late Yashpaul Sharma for the Sanatan, some high-profile Sanatan committees targeted his family as part of a political vendetta, which is so unfortunate. Late Yashpaul Sharma was a real saint of Sanatan in the Poonch district, but every Sanatan institution failed to recognize his selfless service for Sanatan. Moreover, a few management committees of Sanatan institutions were also seen targeting the truthful voices through police and mischievous elements associated with the said committees. It is pertinent to mention here that during the last two decades, Late Satish Sasan was the only Pradhan who was blessed with guts and strong decision-making power. He was never taken lightly by administration, as successive DCs and SSPs were used to take advice from him on various issues. During the tenure of Late Satish Sasan, the office of S.D. Sabha was so strong that many forces known for their questionable credentials against the nation used to think hundreds of times before giving any statement on all the issues of Sanatan. Late Satish Sasan was a lone warrior who single-handedly took major decisions in the interest of Sanatan and the nation by taking successive DCs and SSPs on board. Unfortunately, after his departure, the writ of Sanatan Dharam Sabha has come down, and this was also seen during the recent Chhari Yatra Pujan, where the Pradhan of Sh Sanatan Dharma Sabha was given a cold shoulder, and this thing has shattered the confidence of the Sanatanis across the district as huge question marks were raised on the management committee of Sh Dashnami Akhara Poonch, which seems to be under outside political influence and VVIP culture. The Sanatanis of the district feel that if this is the condition of an S.D. Sabha Pradhan, then what would be the condition of a common Sanatani man in front of the management committee of Sh Dashnami Akhara Poonch, in which many people with questionable credentials have been included as members? The Sh Dashnamai Akhara committee deserves persons with good credentials, public acceptance, and clear integrity and not persons with yes-man and political vendetta credentials. In the invitation letter of the Chhari Mubarak yatra, there was no mention of Pardeep Sharma, ex-MLC, or Pardhan Sh. S.D. Sabha. However, the name of ex-MLC Vibodh Gupta was shown among VVIPs. If the name of Vibodh Gupta was there as VVIP, then why did the management committee not mention the names of ex-BJP MLC Pardeep Sharma, ex-Municipal Chairman Advocate Sunil Sharma, and Pradhan Sh. Sanatan Dharma Sabha Poonch Sh. Khetar Paul Sharma, as Pradhan represents the entire Sanatan Dharma of the district? What was the reason to include the names of Jammu-based elected representatives and personalities on the invitation card who never stood for the cause of Sanatanis of Poonch? Ignoring ex-MLC Pardeep Sharma who is a big names in Poonch politics, Pradhan Khetal Paul Sharma, and Advocate Sunil Sharma, who was municipal chairman, on the invitation card was not an ordinary thing for which the management committee has to be answerable. Do the management committee members of Sh Dashnami Akhara Poonch give importance to their political interests and political vendetta over the interests of the Sanatan? Whether Sh Dashnami Akahra Poonch or Shri Budha Amarnath Shrine Mandi or any other Sanatan institution across the district, all come under the domain of Sh S.D. Sabha Poonch, and those minds of Sanatan who think themselves the ultimate need to understand it sooner than later because Sanatan is supreme and not any individual, and all-out efforts must be made to strengthen Sanatan in the district by uniting all. Moreover, huge question marks have been raised over the working of two trusts inside Sh Budha Amarnath Shrine for several years, and who gave the mandate for the creation of the second trust when the first trust was working for years, the establishment of which is also a subject of deep investigation? Why did the successive DCs who were chairmen fail to investigate the issue? Why do the police officials seem to be taking action on the phone calls of management committee members against those Sanatanis who used to raise their truthful voices against the irregularity in Sanatan, as there are various cases available with “POONCH TODAY” where police officials were seen targeting the whistleblowers without investigating the facts in detail? The police are under MHA and not under any religious institution. The main job of police is to protect the innocent citizen and not to become a puppet of religious and political persons in helping them settle their personal scores against their rivals, and that’s not policing in the real sense.
