Premier League championship in four disciplines declared open by DDC Poonch

POONCH: Rs 206 lacs Premier League championship in four disciplines of Football, Hockey, Kabaddi and Volleyball declared open at Poonch by DDC Poonch Rahul Yadav in presence of SSP Poonch Ramesh Angral.
This is first of its kind championship being organized by J&K Sports council to promote sports in entire J&K UT. Top team from each discipline district wise shall compete at Divisional level and from there, top four teams shall qualify for UT level championship. Earlier, SSP Poonch Ramesh Angral congratulated the players for getting an opportunity to show their skills. DDC Poonch while declaring the championship open said that it’s a big initiative of J&K Sports council and it will bring new talent from all games.
Retd Divisional Sports officer Krishna Lal Sharma, Incharge sports stadium Nirdosh Kuamr, Mohd Qasim I/C DYSSO, Tariq Khan PEM, Nazarat Khan, President District football association, Vijay Kumar, Neeraj Kumar, Pawan Kumar, Matinder Pal Singh and large number of sports lovers were present on the occasion. After the inauguration ceremony, matches in the disciplines of Football and Volleyball were started.
