Professionalism, personality, and integrity grace the chair, and Dy.SP Mohan proved it on a regular basis, IGP Anand Jain appreciates Akhnoor police

JAMMU: A young police officer, Dy.SP Mohan Sharma, who is posted as SDPO Akhnoor, has carved a niche for himself in the police department due to his professional integrity and a regular performance-oriented work culture wherever he was posted in his professional career.

It is said that a chair never graces an individual, but personality, integrity, and professionalism grace the chair, and Dy.SP. Mohan has proved this a number of times, as he was recently awarded by the IGP Jammu Anand Jain (IPS) in the presence of DIG JKS range Shakti Pathak (IPS), SSP Jammu Vinod Kumar (IPS), and SP Rural Rahul Charak for solving highway robbery cases in the Jammu zone. SDPO Mohan and his team were awarded an appreciation letter and a Commendation Certificate for Class 1st by the IGP Jammu. It is pertinent to mention here that Dy.SP Mohan, who was earlier posted as SDPO Nagrota, and Dy.SP Operations Srinagar did a marvellous job by meeting the expectations of the police department. As SDPO Nagrota, he apprehended the terrorist who lobbed a grenade at the bus stand in 2019. Mohan intercepted a group of JEM terrorists who were ferrying from Jammu to Kashmir and neutralized all of them in a terrible face-off. His constant ground presence created havoc for anti-national forces; as a result, three terrorists were intercepted at the toll plaza, and they were neutralized. In one of the operations, he received a bullet injury and had a narrow escape. Under his leadership, massive action was taken against the bovine and drug mafias. As Dy.SP Operation Srinagar, Mohan played a challenging role in the team by breaking the terror ecosystem in Srinagar as there was a sudden increase in target killings of civilians and security forces. In more than thirty operations, nearly 64 terrorists were neutralized, and Mohan had a narrow escape a few times.  On the basis of his regular performance-oriented work, Mohan was posted as SDPO Akhnoor in September 2022, and during the last more than one year, he proved his mettle time and again against all forms of crime. As SDPO Akhnoor, Mohan busted an inter-district highway robbery gang, inter-district theft modules, and an inter-district cattle theft gang. It was Mohan who unearthed the drug supply module in the central Kot Bhalwal jail. A massive war against criminals was started, which resulted in 13 warrants (PSA and PITNDPS) against the criminals and drug peddlers. The recovery of the drone-dropped consignment was a major success for the Akhnoor police. Now the latest solving of highway robbery cases has added another feather to his cap. Already decorated with PMG, JKPMG, Parakaram Padak, DGP JK Disc, DGP CRPF Disc, and Northern Commander commendation, Dy.SP Mohan has infused a new life into policing and has set a benchmark for his subordinates and other police officials. In the highway robbery cases and other major crimes, an award of appreciation was given to SDPO Mohan Sharma, Inspector Hilal Azhar, former SHO Akhnoor, Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq, SHO P/S Akhnoor, PSI Pankaj Katoch, PSI Arun Kumar, HC Karan Singh, HC Kuldeep Singh, Ct Sanjay Kumar, Ct Vijay Kumar, Ct Rahul Sharma, Ct Sunny Sharma, Ct Yashpaul Sharma, and SPO Akshay Choudhary. As the J&K police is being led by DGP R.R. Swain (IPS), who is known as a man of integrity, under his leadership, the gesture of IGP Jammu Anand Jain (IPS) in rewarding performance-oriented officers and officials has increased the morale of police officials, and it will inspire the police officials of other districts to perform well against various types of crimes. The instrumental and constant performance of Dy.SP Mohan Sharma will serve as a benchmark for others to follow, as he has established himself as an asset to J&K Police, feel senior officers.
