The Deputy Commissioner Poonch Yasin M. Choudhary (IAS) extended a warm welcome to the Commissioner Secretary during his visit to Surankote. Public durbar has drawn diverse delegations from civil society, PRIs , DDC and BDC members, elected members of municipality, religious heads, Vyapar mandal and lawyers delegations, among members of general public. The programme was attended by Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin.M.Choudhary(IAS),SSP Poonch, Vinay Kumar Sharma(JKPS) , ADDC Poonch, Sandesh Kumar Sharma(JKAS), SDM Surankote, Rizwan Asgar, Tehsildar Surankote, Executive Engineers of different departments, District Officers beside PRI’s and delegation from Civil Society. At the outset, the Commissioner Secretary inspected stalls set up by various departments and assessed the progress made under different schemes, focusing on achieving the predetermined targets. More specifically, he enquired about the status of saturation levels achieved under various government schemes. Various delegations raised their issues and grievances which received patient hearing from the chair. The PRIs raised specific issues like establishment of industrial estate in Surankote on identified land , upgrading of old primary schools, upgradation of oxygen plant, Slow Progress under JJM, upgradation of Roads, restoration of Lift Schemes, Connectivity of road to unconnected habitats and remote areas, Provision of regular water supply, upgradation of schools, improving school infrastructure and rationalization of teaching staff in schools, Filing of vacancies in PHC’s, regular Power supply, installation , installation of oxygen plant in SDH Surankote, construction of Trauma hospital in Bufliaz area of mughal road, establishment of anganwari centres ward wise in the area and among other issues of their respective areas. Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner Secretary addressed that on the directions of government, the public Darbars shall be organised in every district to took the feedback from the public and PRI’s and work better on the ground for implementation of government schemes.a detailed report is to be submitted to concerned departments regarding various issues concerning them and follow up action will be conducted periodically. He also gave a patient hearing to all the deputations, individuals and passed on the spot directions to the concerned officers for resolving the issues.
