132 kv completed! Shall administration reduce power cuts to four hours? All eyes on DC Poonch Inderjit

POONCH: The most prestigious and much awaited work on realignment of 132 KV transmission line has been completed and the said line is all set to start functioning.

When the said 132 kv line was completed after its first installation by Mufti Sayeed led government, power cuts were reduced to four and half hours from traditional eight hours cut which Poonch district faced for two decades. This 132 kv line suffered huge damages during 2012 snow storm and it was restored in record four months due to the huge efforts of the then administration led by then DC Ajeet Sahu and the then MLA Ajaz Jan. After its commissioning, power cuts were reduced to four and half hours again. But 132 kv line suffered huge damages during 2014 floods and it was decided by administration to realign the entire line and it took nearly seven years for its completion. Poonch district has been facing long power cuts ranging from seven to nine hours. Now, after the completion of this line, people hope that DC Poonch Inderjit will direct the PDD authorities for reducing power cuts to four hours from existing eight hours. Highly placed sources in PDD told “POONCH TODAY” that department has sufficient power for 24 hours of regular supply, but under pressure form high authorities, department officials are forced to ensure power cuts. If people have waited for seven years for this line, then it’s the reasonability of administration to bless people with four hours of power cut only as the practice earlier was when 132 kv was functioning pre September 2014 days. It’s interesting to see whether DC Poonch Inderjit will bless people with reduction in power cuts or Will Poonchities suffer as usual with eight hours power cut? All eyes are now on DC Poonch inderjit.
