Will LOP Sunil Sharma’s prediction on the fall of the NC government come true?

POONCH TODAY NEWS

POONCH: LOP Sunil Sharma, who many times said that the NC government would fall once the cabinet expansion takes place, and his words seem to have reached that stage, as there are huge reports on internal rebellion in the National Conference. A few close-door meetings among the angry MLAs have already taken place up to the time of filing this report, showing that all is not well within the National Conference.

Political pundits having a hawk’s eye on the recent developments told “POONCH TODAY” that some deserving candidates were not given an opportunity by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in his cabinet. In some secret meetings of MLAs, questions were also raised against Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary, who is considered a turncoat leader, as he has shifted political parties off and on, but the decision of the National Conference leadership to give him continuous opportunities is a hard fact, which is unable to be digested by the angry MLAs. They reportedly discussed that those NC leaders who remained loyal to the party for decades have been sidelined, while the first-timer and turncoat Surinder Choudhary has been given huge attention from the chief minister, a fact that is not being accepted by all the agitated MLAs. Meanwhile, senior BJP leader and LOP Sunil Sharma said that he was not willing to comment on the latest development, as it was too early to say anything. Some other senior BJP leaders also said that the party has no intention to script the fall of the NC government, but it would fall on its own because the majority of the NC MLAs are not happy, as the party has become the Muslim Conference, as the maximum number of the Cabinet ministers are from Kashmir, and there is no one now from the winter capital. The way MLA Mubarak Gul was removed from the post of general secretary shows that the NC’s top brass has justified the fact that there is a huge rebellion in the party after the cabinet expansion. LOP Sunil Sharma, who gave the statement earlier, related to the fall of the NC government once the cabinet expansion takes place, showing that the LOP was fully aware of the internal condition of the National Conference. The confidence with which LOP Sunil Sharma predicted the fall of the NC government after the cabinet expansion shows that the NC is on the path of rebellion, and if the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and NC Patron Dr Farooq Abdullah fail to handle the situation, then the government, being led by Omar Abdullah, has to face an acid test as far as the survival of the government is concerned. As the NC is facing its worst rebellion in several decades, it would be interesting to see how things will take shape after NC MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehndi announces his resignation from the party and from the parliament on November 3. Meanwhile, the BJP leaders are internally happy, and it would be interesting to see how the saffron brigade approaches the situation further to bring the political wave in its favour.
