34th Poonch  District Open T.T. Championship concludes; Rachit wins Men’s title, Ridhik wins Youth

POONCH: Rachit Kandhari wins the men’s single title of the 34th Poonch District Open T.T. championship, beating Adnan 11-9,11-9,8-11,7-11,11-9 in the finals of a keenly contested contest. In the youth category, Ridhik beat Dhiren Luthra 11-6,11-9,9-11,11-7. In junior Dhiren bt Adnan 11-8,11-8,11-9.

DC Poonch Vikas Kundal(IAS)was the chief guest on the occasion, while ADC Poonch Tahir Mustafa Malik was a special guest. Earlier, noted Anchor Pardeep Khanna highlighted the achievements of the association for the last thirty-four years. Khanna said that the General Secretary of the association Er Saleem Bandey has done a lot by organising the annual event without any break for over three decades. Speaking on the occasion, Er Saleem Bandey, said that the association struggled a lot in getting this indoor hall for table tennis. Bandey also thanked the J&K government for constructing a new hall for table tennis. The chief guest, DC Poonch Vikas Kundal, said that he is happy to see a huge talent in Poonch in all the games. He said that youth should play their role in nation-building and should stay away from drugs. The DC Poonch also appreciated the district T.T. association for their excellent contribution to uplifting the game for more than three decades despite having no facilities. DC Poonch assured the players that administration is behind their back and they should play the games in a true sportsman spirit. Later, prizes were distributed among the participants.
