Cheap politics: MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi undermines the contribution of the Indian Army in Kashmir, seems to be a supporter of fundamental forces; Former J&K BJP chief Ravinder Raina responds perfectly

POONCH: The other day, during a social media event at Srinagar, sitting National Conference MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi gave a controversial statement while countering former J&K BJP president Ravinder Raina by saying that the Indian Army convoy humiliates the people of the valley.

This frustrated statement of a sitting MP, Aga Ruhullah, who took oath as MP Under the constitution of India, forgot that he holds a constitutional position, and his statement undermined the huge contribution of the Indian Army in restoring peace in Kashmir, which remained disturbed for years due to a high-level nexus between Kashmir-based political parties and radical forces backed by Pakistan, which always stood against India by blackmailing New Delhi for decades. Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, who visibly backstabbed his parent political party, the National Conference, which gave him political identity, wants to become another tall leader in Kashmir by touching the internal sentiments of Kashmiris without any logic. On the one hand, the Union Government, Indian Army, paramilitary forces, intelligence agencies, and J&K police have done a big job in bringing peace in the valley, but on the other hand, controversial leaders like Aga Ruhullah Mehdi seem to take Kashmir back to old days where stone pelting, supporting fundamental forces, and raising anti-Bharat sentiments were routine affairs. Although former J&K BJP president Ravinder Raina tried his best to show him the mirror by mentioning facts and figures about the pre-2019 and post-2019 conditions, the visibly politically immature MP was seen countering Ravinder Raina without any logic as if he was giving opportunities to Kashmiris to make social media reels out of his statements, which would ultimately help in projecting him as an emerging voice of Kashmiri after Abdullahs’ and Muftis’. In the said social media event, a particular ideology that always stands against the Bharat was seen using free will to spit the venom against the national interest to impress their bosses sitting inside and outside the nation. Aga Ruhullah Mehdi, who was not known in political circles, became a political identity in Kashmir with the blessings of Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah, but after getting his strong political wings, Aga Ruhullah Mehdi was seen hitting those who gave him political wings just to brainwash the people of Kashmir with a sole agenda to introduce an anti-Bharat narrative in the minds of young Kashmiris who have been witnessing total peace after the abrogation of temporary Articles 370 and 35A. Is Ruhullah so immature that he doesn’t see visible developmental changes on the soil of Kashmir? What forced him to see Indian Army convoys as a humiliation for Kashmiris? If J&K is safe and peaceful, then it’s because of the Indian Army, paramilitary forces, and J&K Police. What does Ruhullah want by insulting the Indian Army? Does he want to take Kashmir back to the stone-pelting and anti-Bharat era, where people were seen rushing to terrorists’ graveyards and chanting pro-Pak slogans? Did Aga Ruhullah ever condemn Pakistan-sponsored terrorism in Kashmir? Did he stand against stone pelters and anti-national forces in Kashmir? Did he condemn Kashmiri Pandits’ forced migration from Kashmir by the Pakistan-backed radical forces? Did he ever stand in the national interest? The answer is no, because his main agenda seems to mislead the people of Kashmir by targeting the army and nationalist forces across the nation. The statement of Aga Ruhullah Mehdi against the Indian Army is seen as an immature statement, which has been condemned by all the nationalist forces. Although Aga tried his best to steal the social media event with his unnecessary rhetoric targeting the hearts of Kashmiris, it was Ravinder Raina, in a state of complete maturity, who brought exclusive facts into the public domain. Raina, who is widely regarded as a political force of the J&K BJP, has a huge fan following in the Kashmir and Jammu regions. Raina opened the eyes of the audience with his statements with a farsighted vision, touching internal security and national security concerns. Although Raina, who played a big role in granting ST status to Paharis, was also backstabbed by Paharis during the 2024 assembly elections, he was still seen showing his big heart during his visits to Poonch and Rajouri. Both Raina and Aga Ruhullah are young, but their statements show who stands with the national interest and who stands against the interest of Bharat. The contribution of the Indian Army, paramilitary forces, J&K police, and intelligence agencies in J&K is unparalleled as far as bringing peace is concerned, and any attempt to undermine these institutions by anyone is a complete indication that they internally belong to radical and anti-Bharat forces whose main agenda is to stand against Bharat in Kashmir. Due to freedom of expression, the anti-national forces have taken everything for granted, and not tackling these forces with an iron fist by the government has sent a wrong signal across the nation from the internal security point of view. In showing a clear picture to the nation in the national interest based on facts and figures, it’s the responsibility of the professional print and electronic media houses having credibility to play their roles; else, the non-professional digital media individuals without any journalism background with their anti-Bharat agenda will continue to dodge one and all. As in many states of the country, especially Delhi, such unprofessional digital media individuals without any media background being paid by anti-national forces are seen running a coordinated agenda against the nation, which has become a cause of huge concerns from internal and external security points of view.
