Bridging the Divide- Confronting Rural Health Disparities and Building Healthier Communities: Dr Sushil
Bridging the Divide- Confronting Rural Health Disparities and Building Healthier Communities: Dr Sushil POONCH TODAY...

Whether successive CMOs, Medical Superintendents, or other tainted officials enjoyed hot seats, they remained part and parcel of big misdeeds never taken to task by the government. Sources in the health department told “POONCH TODAY” that few people have maintained good relations in the directorate of health services in Jammu, and they used to play a major role in settling deals between local and top officers, so no one takes action against reported matters of corruption. From the time of COVID-19, reportedly, a huge blow was given to the government exchequer, and those who were involved in brazen financial irregularities were never taken to task. Even the district administration remained a mute spectator to various financial irregularities in the health department in Poonch. Funds under various schemes were used in the wrong way, and some important chairs played a big role in such unethical activities. Some blocks of the health department in Poonch also withdrew huge funds for activities that existed only on paper and not on the ground. Whether the offices of the CMO, BMOs, medical superintendents, and other important chairs played their wrong roles with government funds, they still have not taken to the task. It’s a worrying sign that those sitting at the directorate of health services in Jammu have maintained a questionable silence on exclusively reported matters of huge financial irregularities. Important sources, pleading anonymity, told “POONCH TODAY”, that no one in the directorate of health services or from the office of the commissioner of health is ready to investigate various frauds of the health department because they are fully aware of the fact that top officials sitting at divisional level will also be exposed in those frauds because the chain is very long and starts from district to top level. A high level inquiry is needed from the government to investigate various financial frauds that were scripted in the health department in Poonch, whether at the block or district level.
