Political career of ex-legislators Ajaz Jan, Dr Shenaz,  Tantray, Ch Akram, Javed Rana at stake in DDC elections

POONCH TODAY NEWS

POONCH: On one hand, DDC elections have given a big opportunity to second line leadership, but on the other hand, few ex-legislators who have taken part in DDC elections directly or indirectly, are on the verge of facing a political crisis ahead, if they fail to taste win for themselves or for their blood relations or the candidates they support. In Tehsil Mandi, credibility of  ex MLA Shah Mohd Tantray, ex MLC Dr Shenaz Ganai and ex-MLA Ajaz Jan is at stake. In the same Tehsil, Riyaaz Choudhary, son of ex legislator Late Ch Bashir Naaz, is  a young leader who is trying his luck for the first time from Loran, where as sitting BDC chairman Shamim Ganai is also checking his popularity from Loran. In Surankote, ex-legislator Ch Akram is also facing the credibility crises against Congress rebel Shahnawaz Choudhary. In Mendhar, two young leaders are also fighting for their place in the politics of Mendhar and they are first timer Ch Imran Zafar, son of senior congress leader Ch Zafar, where as Nadeem Rafiq, son of ex MLA Mendhar  Rafiq Hussain is also fighting for the first time. Zeeshan Rana, son of three times legislator Javed Rana is also fighting and as per reports, NC is facing internal rivalry and it would be interesting to see how Javed Rana manages to save his skin by ensuring victory for his son. However, Javed Rana is the only leader in Mendhar who is facing reliability crisis because he has served Mendhar thrice.  In Poonch, there is a direct fight between BJP president M.R Chisti and Congress district president Ch Abdul Gani. Whatever may be the outcome after DDC elections result, but one thing is clear that these elections have given people more political options for the future and it’s a big threat for all those legislators and powerful leaders, who ruled  over Poonch politics for years. Emergence of young leadership after DDC elections is a good sign for the future, because people are fed up with the traditional politics of divide and rule and want peace and development only.
