RAJOURI: Time and again exposed by “POONCH TODAY” that massive murder of funds was executed in PWD stores of Rajouri and Nowshera divisions, but no body at the helm of affairs took any action against the erring officials. Executive Engineer Rajouri, reason best known to him failed to provide the complete record. Playing foul, the said officer preferred to provide other information of tyre puncture and vehicle service bills amounting to Rs 37,000 and 39,250 released in favour of an auto shop located at 6, Municipal market Jammu Tawi. Moreover, computer related bills amounting to Rs 54,798 and 1,09202 were provided when such information was not asked for by few RTI applicants. Important information showing massive frauds from PWD store was not provided by the Executive Engineer and it shows that how few JEs, AEEs, Storekeeper and successive X.ENs posted at division Rajouri looted government money. Many fake bills in several lacs were passed on the name of J&K cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Ltd but on ground, no such material was used in majority of works under different schemes. Same is the case of Executive Engineer Nowshera division where brazen loot was scripted by tainted PWD officials posted at Nowshera over the years. On paper, crores of rupees were released, but ground condition speaks different language. Blacktopping of roads is also a major scam in Rajouri and Nowshera divisions where rules were violated openly and many contractors were given out of the way benefits in lieu of hefty commission. On paper, department claims that massive development has taken place in Nowshera and Rajouri divisions, but inside story of PWD department is different. In one of the high profile project in Rajouri division, over Rs 20 lacs were withdrawn without initiating the work on the ground. Likewise, there are many works which were executed on paper only and there are some works on which repeated payments were released by changing the nomenclature of work on Tenders. Though store related activities were stopped by government in 2018-19, but data available with “POONCH TODAY” shows that how successive X.Ens, AEEs, Storekeeper, JEs posted at Nowshera and Rajouri divisions murdered govt exchequer on fake supply order and onwards delivery of materials for various works under various schemes. There is no record available of various supply orders issued in favour of various agencies for purchase of material from 2008 onwards(…….)
