POONCH: Partiality in providing government quarters to needy government employees who used to come to serve in Poonch from outside districts shows that the system of Poonch administration is not on the right track. There are a number of examples that government quarters were allotted to lower rung employees who were having strong connections with those responsible for the quarter allotment exercise. A government employee, pleading anonymity, told “POONCH TODAY, “Yahan system tha, Paisa doo aur quarter loo. Shayad abhi tak wohi system chal raha hai.” Many officers who have been posted in Poonch district are still without government accommodation. Still, there are officers in the Poonch administration who are having their personal home’s but still enjoying the comfort of having government quarters by projecting themselves as VIPs. Similarly, many low rung government employees having personal property have also occupied the quarters. Meanwhile, those government officials who have come from outside districts to Poonch are still without any quarter. Even, few teachers were given quarters and it shows the sorry state of affairs going on in administration. A high level inquiry is needed into the matter to identify wrong beneficiaries who were given government quarters on the basis of strong links and without any merit so that those waiting for getting government quarters on merit may get justice.
