In Poonch haveli. Ch Gani performed well as candidates supported by him in two to three blocks won. In six blocks of Tehsil Surankote and Mendhar, independents won comfortably. Among all the eleven blocks of Poonch district, election of BDC Mandi remained high profile as two ex-legislators used their full might to ensure defeat of Shamim Ganai, but Ganai turned the tables and won with a thumping lead. Meanwhile, BJP has been exposed again as none of the leaders supported by Poonch BJP managed to win. In Rajouri district also, BJP performed poorly and won 8 out of 19 blocks. In Kalakote block of former BJP MLA Abdul Gani Kohli, BJP lost all three seats, even lost home block Lamberi of JK BJP president Ravinder Raina. In Nowshera, BJP won only two seats out of five seats.
