These gang members never allowed the administration to address the real issues facing the public, but were only seen giving “Guldasta” and similar things to officers on their arrival and departure. It is shocking that some police and civil officers were also seen with these “Guldasta gang” members frequently, thereby giving the wrong impression to the people. A large number of such people were seen time and again using their influence in administration to get maximum benefit for themselves, leaving the common man to run from pillar to post to get their real issues addressed by the top officers. Due to this strong nexus between the administration and these “Guldasta gang” members over the years, development remained a distant dream in this border district of Poonch. Crores of rupees were swallowed behind the curtains under different schemes due to the strong nexus between this gang and the administration. It is shocking that some government employees have also become active members of this gang with the full support of illegal media platforms and were seen violating civil service rules openly. By clicking photos with top officers, these gang members used to hoodwink innocent people in their areas by saying that they were members of civil society and used to play an active role in the administration. Even some tainted officers of the police and civil administration use these gang members for their praise on social media. A few people termed these gang members “Chaploson ka tola.” One of the “Guldasta gang” members was heard saying in a small gathering a few days ago, “DC apna banda hai. Apne logon ke kaam ayega”. This gang, along with some members of civil society, earlier found a new technique to put pressure on the administration by launching some people including some employees in the media field whose credentials are still unknown and running illegal media platforms. These gang members have formed various groups silently and are used to running narratives in favour or against any officer based on their links with the DC or SSP office. Under the influence of these gang members, some top officers of the police and civil administration were also seen adopting biased approaches in various works, and it shows how top officers of the administration were eclipsed by these self-styled gang members, and fake media platforms. A retired officer, while sharing his views with “POONCH TODAY”, said, “Corrupt and inefficient officers over the years backstabbed Poonch, but these shameless sycophants, remained their bootlickers and presented a positive picture of them in front of the government dignitaries despite the fact that issues of the common man were never addressed”. Due to this “Chamchagiri culture”, shrewd officers of the police and civil administration took undue benefit, and this strong nexus between the administration and “Guldasta gang” members ultimately proved havoc for the development of this border district of Poonch.
