POONCH TODAY NEWS

KALAKOTE: When BJP Came to power along with PDP, Kalakote residents thought that they will get due justice from development point of view, but when “POONCH TODAY” team visited Kalakote and contacted many locals of the area to get their feedback on the performance of ex BJP MLA from Kalakote,   people gave horrible feedback. A senior citizen of Kalakote and an experienced farmer, pleading anonymity, said, “Our MLA never addressed the aspirations of locals, rather he was seen giving preference to his close ones and gave cold shoulder to our genuine problems. Locals were not happy with him and I request BJP high command not to repeat him in future”. Kamlesh Kumar, a student, while talking to “POONCH TODAY”, said, “Initially, we thought that our MLA was an experienced politician and he would work for the welfare of Kalakote, but I have no hesitation in saying that he proved worst for we people. During his tenure, Kalakote received step motherly treatment. He proved as a visionless leader and during his tenure, only corrupt officials enjoyed a  lot under his full shelter”. Rakesh, a businessman, said, “On what basis BJP gave him mandate when there were more visionary people available in BJP cadre then. Former MLA had spoiled everything here and where should we go for our developmental needs now”. Gurdev, a prominent local of Kalakote, said, “Its unfortunate that Kalakote  remained ignored on all fronts and former MLA also did nothing, rather he remained busy in making fortunes.  I think in the history of Kalakote politics, the tenure of former BJP MLA will be remembered as a dark period from developmental point of view”. This was for the first time in Pir Panjal history that BJP won two assembly seats  from Rajouri districts and formed coalition government with BJP, but despite of getting more than three years of tenure,  former MLA Kalakote failed to justify the decision of high command on giving him mandate. During his tenure, only his close relatives were given lucrative postings. “POONCH TODAY” tried to contact local BJP leaders to know their comments, but they preferred to remain silent and it indicated that local BJP leadership was also aware of the fact that ex BJP MLA failed brazenly to come up to the expectations of the people of Kalakote.
