POONCH: National Conference, PDP and Congress have been exposed fully as their announcement of boycott of BDC polls proved a hoax as almost all opposition political parties are active in BDC elections and are supporting their proxy candidates indirectly on independent symbols and their leaders including ex-legislators are campaigning openly by reaching out to the voters of BDC elections.  61 candidates are contesting in eleven blocks of Poonch district. An ex-PDP legislator of Poonch is campaigning openly for his party’s block president in one of the block of Poonch haveli constituency, who is also contesting independently. NC and Congress leadership is also very active in Poonch haveli constituency. Similarly, an ex-Congress legislator is also doing the same by supporting his proxy candidates in Surankote constituency on five seats. Few NC leaders are not behind and have used their full might in BDC elections across the district and playing every move to ensure victory of their supported candidates, especially in Buffliaz block of Surankote constituency, where credibility of an ex-NC legislator is at stake.  It is pertinent to mention here that NC and PDP did not announce their participation in BDC elections. Congress first announced its participation, but later decided not to contest the same to befool the state and union governments on various pretexts. But, behind the curtains, NC, PDP and Congress leadership supporting their candidates for ensuring BJP not to  have a smooth sailing in BDC elections. In Poonch district, PDP and Congress cadre is  divided into various groups and every group is keen to show its supremacy by winning more seats to show its strength.  By playing double game, NC, PDP and Congress have been exposed fully in front of public on BDC elections, feel political pundits.
