How many “Fake” Degree Teachers are  working in Education Department?

POONCH TODAY NEWS

POONCH: The issue of large number of employees of Education Department across the state who were having “Fake” degrees remained in news most of the time and government, in August 2015,  ordered investigation of RET Teachers, General Line Teachers and Masters under the domain of authentication to unsoiled system”. To test the efficiency of RET Teachers, government proposed screening test of those  who got degrees from study centers through distance mode from unrecognized university and this issue hit the headlines and as a result, many protests were carried out against the government. Similar protests were also carried out in Poonch, but soon, the said issue was thrown beneath the carpet.  Now, the question arises how many “Fake” degree” Teachers are still working in Education Department Poonch. Has department conducted verification of all employees who were having doubtful degrees? There are also reports that many employees were promoted to the next level on the basis of these fake degrees with the involvement of clerks working in many ZEOs and CEO offices.  For verification, many committees were formed, but what happened to that committees, has remained a big mystery, till date. Highly placed sources in the education department said that if government conducts an inquiry, large number of employees with “Fake” degrees will be exposed. Pertinent to mention here that Education Department Poonch got huge funds  in several crores over the years for improvement in education sector, but despite huge spending, the department has failed to get back on the track, reason, might be due to the presence of few such Teachers who got degrees through “Fake” means and now unable to impart quality education to the students. Earlier, government followed the directions of the High Court on the issue after a ReT applicant failed to write an essay on cow and also couldn’t solve a mathematics question of primary standard. In past, a ReT teacher in the Billawar area of Kathua was dismissed after his degree was found to be fake. Sources within the department told “POONCH TODAY” that majority of employees having such degrees have no bonafide certificate  “For providing quality education to the students who are future of the country, government needs to start again the verification process of all teaching employees for detecting those employees who got everything on the basis of “Fake” degrees”, says prominent educationists.
