Action against 5 RDD Officials by DC Poonch is just a tip of an ice berg; Many similar frauds lying unattended

POONCH: The other day, DC Poonch after proper verification conducted,  booked five RDD officials for  scripting Rs 2 crore fraud in RDD Mendhar. DC Poonch took this action on regular public complaints that RDD officials in Mendhar were involved in massive frauds. The recent action of district administration against five officials is just a tip of an iceberg as many corrupt crocodiles are working in RDD Poonch who have looted state exchequer over the years and many similar frauds are still lying unattended. Few RDD officials have become lakhpati’s with the full support of successive BDOs and ACD’s. The brazen level of corruption in RDD Poonch exposed many times by “POONCH TODAY”, but those who were at the helm of affairs in Poonch administration preferred to sit idle and that way, supported many crooks working in RDD. Although, DC Poonch Rahul Yadav took action on this Rs 2 crore fraud scripted by five RDD officials, but if a detailed inquiry is conducted for the last five years in all the blocks of Poonch under different schemes, a big scandal worth more than Rs 50 crore will explode. As per the version of  a retired KAS officer, RDD Poonch has scripted more than Rs 50 crore fraud in recent years in which various officials right from GRS, VLWs, Technical Assistants, JE’s, BDO to  successive ACDs remained  involved and unfortunately, the same practice is still going on, said sources. Few JEs are looking after more than 15 Panchayats where as few BDOs are looking after ten Panchayats. Ensuring presence of quality work on the ground is not the priority of RDD officials, but getting commission from work is their sole agenda. Whether the work is present on the ground or only paper, it doesn’t matter, but how to target money by all means is the only agenda of tainted RDD Officials who have given a massive setback to the government exchequer. A proper inquiry into every Panchayat block wise year wise is needed to detect a big fraud worth several crores. Those RDD Officials who looted money under different schemes meant for the development of people living in rural areas, need to be taken to task for their foul plays.
