RAJOURI: There is no more dangerous menace to civilization than an administration of incompetent, corrupt or vile men. “POONCH TODAY” has been publishing regularly that the office of Deputy Commissioner Rajouri was hijacked long ago and the way things are going on, the office stills seems to be in hijacking mode, reason few Planning department officials reportedly managing everything behind the curtains. On Illegal constructions which were started long ago and still going on in Rajouri city at various places, the same officials have adopted different yardsticks for different illegal constructions as they are dictating every term in DC office. Those people who manage to indulge in hand in glove activity with them  used to get green signal for doing illegal constructions and those who fail to satisfy the hunger of tainted officials get strict action from DC office. It seems that a high profile “Mafia” is operating in DC office Rajouri which is allowing illegal constructions at various places, but take selective action. There are similar reports of illegal constructions and brazen corruption level from various blocks of Rajouri district in which some high profile officers including SDMs are involved.  Sources said that officials of Rajouri Municipality, Irrigation & Flood Control department, PWD and Police take selective actions on reportedly illegal constructions and on the other hand, allow illegal constructions at various places for those people who believe in settling deal with tainted officials. In this high profile drama, reportedly few people from  fourth platform are also involved who are always ready to cash such opportunities. During the last few months, large number of illegal constructions have taken place in Rajouri city and administration is fully aware of this issue. Despite that, the officials from DC office have adopted different rules for dealing with different constructions. One influential person who was busy in construction work, faced wrath of administration and his construction work was stopped. That person said that few officials in DC office demanded hand in glove favour for allowing him to carry forward with the same construction work. Such activities are coming in public domain regularly  and it shows that  DC office Rajouri has become a toll collection centre and not an institution of providing justice.
