District administration plays foul during LGs visit; Whistle blowers not allowed to meet

POONCH TODAY NEWS

POONCH: During the first visit of Lieutenant Governor G.C Murmu today, district administration played foul and only allowed those people who were having good relations with administration and are considered as “Sycophants” and those deputations, including many whistle blowers on corruption and many scams, were not allowed to enter the premises of Dak Bungalow. Many unemployed youths who were keen to meet LG were shown cold shoulder by security agencies. Even media personals, who were keen to meet LG to bring into his notice massive Flood Zone scam in which district administration is neck deep involved, were not allowed as Police standing outside Dak bungalow did not allow the media persons. It is pertinent to mention here that Poonch district remained in news for various corruptions related scams including much talked about “Flood Zone” scam in which many illegal buildings have come up in red zone with the convenience of administration, but sensing trouble, administration did not allow the whistle blowers. Two senior Police officers were seen playing tricks with media by using the name of SSP Poonch and even indulged in intimidation against Media. Although, it was the first ever visit of LG to know the basic problems being faced by the people of Poonch, but fully knowing that people may raise issue of corruption before LG, district administration played mind games and even beg before some leaders not to raise the issue of “Flood Zone” and corruption related issue. As a result of dubious attitude of administration, no real time information on many scams was brought into the notice of LG and administration succeeded in its attempt to save its skin on Flood Zone scam. In a shocking state of affairs, many handicap people who were given scooters were seen walking on foot to get the petrol for their scooters as administration did not provide them petrol. Even batteries of some scooters were not functional and it shows that administration has hurt sentiments of handicap people with this wrong gesture.
