POONCH: Welcoming the New Education Policy-2020, All Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers’ Federation Poonch (Affiliated with Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh) termed it a major initiative to deal with the new challenges of 21st Century in Education Sector.

Darshan Bharti, State  Vice President, AJKLTF in a press conference here in Poonch said, “We widely welcome the NEP-2020 where the system of appointment of teachers on transparent basis, restoring the dignity of teachers and participation in educational administration is a ommendable in the new policy”  “The NEP-2020 aims at making “India a global knowledge superpower” and the focus on basic literacy and basic numeracy and establishment of National Assessment Centre-PARAKH to assess the students will definitely strengthen the basic academic system in the Country” Bharti, said. The New Education Policy also focuses on Vocational studies at School level where every child will have to learn at least on vocational courses which would prepare students to identify life skills and by 2025, at least 50% of learners through the school and higher education
system shall have exposure to vocational education. Bharti added. Teachers Federation also welcomes the Common regulatory body for entire higher education in which the Higher Education Commission of India(HECI) will be set up as a single overarching umbrella body for the entire higher education, excluding medical and legal education. The AJKLTF hoped that with the implementation of New Education Policy the Indian system of Education would be one of the best system in the world and would connect students with the Indian culture and heritage, Dr, Dharminder Shastri, In-charge Rajouri-Poonch, Jeevan Parkash, General Secretary AJKLTF, Deepak Raina and Neetan Sharma also addressed the Media.
