PWD Engineers of Rajouri division are openly violating the RTI act fearing trouble; Overstaying JEs in Rajouri looting exchequer

RAJOURI: Already known for scripting many financial frauds, PWD Engineers of Rajouri division and special division of Nowshera believe in violating the transparency act, because they fear that if they provide  information, it will land them in trouble. Both these divisions in Rajouri district are known for various frauds which including poor quality  blacktopping fraud, poor quality bunkers and withdrawing many fake bills on the name of repairing of various roads.  Withdrawing money in several lakhs from doubtful projects has become a fashion in Rajouri district  and few engineers are expert in this. Few JEs in Rajouri and Nowshera are overstayed and they have gained expertise in looting exchequer and are involved in massive frauds. Highly placed sources within the department told “POONCH TDOAY” that over the last few years, bills worth several crores withdrew by tainted engineer of Rajouri and Nowshera divisions from store related activities only and there  is no record available about procurement of all types of material for construction purpose and their further disposal. A PWD JE in Nowshera special division has become so powerful that nothing moves without his consent in the said division because he used to share everything, from top to bottom and that’s why, majority of staff posted there always abide by his saying, whether withdrawing fake bills or related issues. Locals of Nowshera, wishing anonymity, said that during the last few years, few officials including some tainted engineers remained indulged in looting only. Even successive SE’s never bothered to hold inquiry into reported wrong practices in both Rajouri and Nowshera divisions. For ensuring transparency, a high level inquiry is needed to book those PWD JEs and AEEs who scripted various foul plays with an aim of satisfying their lust in Rajouri and Nowshera divisions.  Chief Engineer PWD and Commissioner/ Secretary PWD need to understand the gravity of the situation and should start taking action against tainted officials of PWD in Rajouri and Nowshera divisions, feel locals.
