RDD JEs, Secy Pyts demanding commission for every work, allege Mandi, Loran residents

POONCH: The residents of Mandi and Loran have alleged that JEs, Secy Pyts and GRS posted in these two blocks have become so selfish that they are openly demanding commission for every work from poor people. They alleged that for a work under 14^th FC and IAY, a JE demanded Rs 25,000 as commission. Criticizing the working of RDD in Mandi, Sathra and Loran blocks, locals said that these tainted officials have become overnight lakhpatis. Under 14 FC, a single JE was looking after more than ten Panchayats and it’s not possible for him to visit every work and this led to huge compromise in work and encourages brazen corruption. Sources within the department told “POONCH TODAY” that concerns being raised by locals of Mandi and Loran are genuine, because staff posted there always prefer to indulge in corrupt activities.  They have only one target and that is to grab money by all means. Even degree of few JEs in Poonch district is doubtful and still they are continuing with their duties.  They also said that majority of BDOs are neck deep involved with such tainted officials which include JEs, GRS, Secy Pyts. Recently, when people of Arai in Mandi block  brought the matter into the notice of higher authorities, an official of  RDD, who was himself involved in Model village scam earlier, appointed by administration to inquire the issue along with few other officials as demanded by the residents of Arai in Mandi block. Giving responsibility of inquiry to a tainted person by ACD Poonch shows that whole department is involved in such acts. A high level inquiry is needed from government to address the concerns of residents of Mandi, Sathra and Loran blocks.
