POONCH TODAY NEWS

POONCH: Poonch district is suffering from various developmental issues including brazen corruption in many department and a lot of times, various social, political leaders in addition to some prominent citizens wanted to raise genuine issues before visiting dignitaries, but every time, their concerns were sabotaged by successive administrators, reason, none of the Deputy Commissioner wanted anybody to raise any issue against administration  which mostly leads to a heavy impact on the chairs of DC and SSP in front of visiting dignitaries. So, the same happened again. Just before the LG Manoj Sinha’s visit to Poonch which was cancelled due to bad weather conditions, Deputy Commissioner Poonch called prominent citizens to Dak Bungalow over a cup of tea. The idea behind all this was to capture all prominent citizens in advance and to take them in confidence with a direction not to raise anything against the administration.  Although, it’s a fact that the majority of civil society members always remained “Sycophants” of administration and they never went against administration over issues of public importance before visiting dignitaries. But the latest gesture of DC Poonch showed  that the administration itself was not interested in the development of this border district, that’s why DC directed self styled civil society members not to raise anything serious in front of LG. In the meeting at Dak Bungalow before the visit of LG which was cancelled later on, DC also gave a “Lollypop” to civil society members that they should raise major developmental issues. Here at Poonch, the administration cannot ensure regular power and water supply, but preferred to sell day dreams to civil society members about big projects. Now, the question arises, how many times, administration discussed the issue of big projects in any official meetings. The answer lies in the negative. Even media personnel were directed by DC through the Information Department to bring a logo and a big camera as an eligibility to enter into the premises of dak bungalow and not mobile camera. DC Poonch must understand that media comprises electronic and print media and it’s not necessary for print media to roam with all accessories. There are different sets of characteristics for print and electronic media and DC needs to learn these tits bits of media for a better understanding of the journalism field.  District administration reportedly believes in the policy of “Looks busy doing nothing”. Earlier, DC directed all officers to ensure 70% expenditure before 31st December. Is it possible for all departments to ensure the same? Definitely  not. So, going by the gesture of district administration, people should not expect development as the majority of officers are just passing the time. Calling a meeting of civil society members before the LG visit showed that the administration was not interested in the development of Poonch. In a flourishing democracy, every opinion matters as far as development is concerned, but sometimes, an arrogant approach of one spoil many things from a developmental perspective and due to this, generations of generations suffer. Poonch district badly needs meritorious and visionary officers with knowledge of every field for total development, feel locals.
