POONCH: Thousands of people from different walks of life attended the last rites of a senior BJP leader and Pradhan Shri Sanatan Dharam Sabha Poonch, Satish Sasan. The news of his death spread like wildfire, as everyone was shocked to hear of Satish Sasan’s untimely and unexpected death.

He had carved a niche for himself in society through his social service. A few months ago, Satish had lost his young son, Adv. Nitish Sasan. Satish Sasan, once a firebrand BJP leader, played a significant role in the overall development and communal harmony of society. Satish, as a political leader, won councillor election in 2005, and in the last municipal election of 2018, he played a significant role in the victory of his wife as councillor from Ward No. 11. As a Pradhan of the SD Sabha, he made every effort to address the concerns of Sanatanis from across the district. He was well respected and loved by people from every section of society. Many big political leaders from different political parties, besides the number of IAS, IPS, JKAS, and JKPS officers, including Ajeet Sahu(IAS), Rahul Yadav(IAS),  Vinod Kumar(IPS), Harun Malik(Former DC Poonch), Shamsheer Choudhary(JKPS) former SSP Poonch, Anwar Ul Haq(JKPS), Ramesh Angral(JKPS) former SSP Poonch, Shamim Ahmed Salaria(SSP APCR), Rohit Baskotra(SSP Poonch), Inder Jeet(DDC Poonch), Musheem Ahmed(ASP Poonch), Jatinder Singh(JKAS), Shahid Nayeem(JKPS), Mohan Sharma(JKPS), Bhishm Dubey(JKPS), Basharat Hussain(JKAS), and others, termed the death of Satish Sasan as a big loss to society. Aijaz Asad(IAS), DDC Srinagar, said, “That is such a terrible loss and unexpected departure. My thoughts and condolences are with the family members and associates of Satish Sasan Ji”. Taj Mir, senior congress leader, said, “We lost a great friend and a renowned political personality who played a key role on various occasions in maintaining communal harmony in the district”. Rajiv Pandey(IPS), former SSP Poonch, said, “It’s a tragic moment for Poonch. My condolences with the family members and his friends”. Pardeep Sharma, ex-MLC said, “Nobody can take Satish ji’s place, who devoted his entire life to society and the nation. His untimely departure is shocking”.  Advocate Sanjay Raina, said, “This news came as a big shock for me personally as we had shared good and bad times together. His sudden and untimely departure is a big loss to the whole Poonch”. Vinay Misri, vice President Shri S.D Sabha termed the death of Satish Sasan as devastation for the entire Poonch. He said, “Satish ji always worked for every section of the society.  He was a bold person, an able administrator and a cooperative leader. Nobody can fulfil the void created by him”. Noted Anchor Pardeep Khanna, said, “I have no words to express my grief. It’s a big loss. My heartfelt condolences with the family”. Likewise, senior BJP leaders Ravinder Raina, Ashok Koul, Vibodh Gupta, Jugal Kishore(MP), Congress leader Jahangir Mir(ex-MLC), Ajaz Jan(ex-MLA), Shah Mohd Tantray(ex-MLA), Dr Shenaz Ganai(ex-MLC), Riyaaz Choudhary(DDC), Shamim Ganai(BDC), Choudhary Abdul Gani(DDC), Adv Sunil Sharma(President Municipal council), Nishu Gupta, Sunil Gupta, Mohd Rafiq Chisti, noted writer K.D Maini, Adv Mohd Zaman, Adv Iftikar Bazmi, Abhinav Sharma, Adv Sanjeev Sharma, Dr Udeshpaul Sharma, Sukhwinder Singh, Imtiaz Salaria, and other religious and social leaders termed the death of Satish Sasan as a big loss to the entire Poonch and prayed for his soul to attain peace. Large number of people paid tributes to him in the premises of Shri Geeta Bhawan Poonch and afterwards, the body of Satish was taken to the cremation ground.  Satish was cremated with full honours.
