SRINAGAR NOVEMBER 01: Enduring efforts of the administration to reach out to the common masses of the District to address their grievances, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Wednesday undertook an extensive tour of Khonmoh Block of the District and presided over a Grievance Redressal Camp under Weekly Block Diwas programme.


The tour was conducted to bring Administration at the door steps of people for on spot resolution of public issues and demands.
The Grievance Redressal Camp was attended by large gathering of locals, besides DDC member Balhama, Engineer Aijaz Ahmad, DDC member Khonmoh, Manzoor Ahmad, other PRI representatives and large number of people of the area who projected their grievances and issues before the Deputy Commissioner. The demands include macadamization of Khonmoh road, deployment of staff/technicians for of UPHC, Khonmoh, augmentation of drinking water supply, drainage & irrigation canals, playground for local youth, settlement of revenue records, augmentation, construction of panchayat Ghar, curbing rash driving by truck drivers and other issues.
After giving patient hearing to the grievances and demands of the PRI members and other individuals, the DC sought on the spot response from the concerned District Officers present during the Grievance Redressal Camp. He assured the people of Khonmoh and other adjoining areas that all genuine demands and issues projected by them will be looked into on priority.

The DC also gave on the spot directions to the concerned Officers for time bound redressal of the public issues. On the occasion, the DC dedicated the Community Facilitation Centre Khonmoh to the local population which has been constructed at a cost of Rs 52 lakh by PWD and handed over to RDD/local panchayat for day to day functioning. Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner said the District Administration is holding such grievance redressal Camps to take appraisal of local issues from the general public for precise and on-ground assessment to ensure their time bound redressal as all issues are taken up with concerned quarters with proper monitoring on periodical basis.
With regard to the demand for a playground, the DC said that 40 kanals of suitable land has been earmarked for the play field at Khonmoh and work on its development will be taken up after approval of DPR to provide better sports facilities to the local youth. Similarly, the DC said that the upgradation of road along Khonmoh has been approved at a cost of Rs 4.20 crore and work on it will start after tendering process.
In order to prevent road accidents caused due to rash driving by the truck/tipper drivers, the DC asked RTO and Traffic Police Departments to take necessary measures in this regard to avoid accidents. The DC also stressed the PHE Department to expedite the ongoing works on Poshpathri water supply scheme to address the long pending demand of local habitations.
To boost the local economy of the people, the DC urged the youth to come forward and avail benefit from Government schemes like Horticulture Agriculture Development Plan (HADP). He also asked the officers to conduct a mega awareness camp on HADP at Community Facilitation Centre Khonmoh to sensitize youth about the benefits under the scheme and cover the eeigible beneficiaries. During the tour, the DC also inspected the UPHC, Khonmoh and took stock of its functioning. On the occasion, the DC interacted with the Staff and local people and enquired about the available patient care facilities. The DC also visited NTPHC, Zewan to inspect the face lifting and works going on for development of parking. Later, the DC inspected the Wathpora–Soiteng bridge on which construction work has been completed.
Among others, Chief Planning Officer Srinagar, Mohammad Yassen Lone, Chief Medical Officer, Dr Jameel, Assistant Commissioner Development, Syed Farooq, Block Development Officer, Khonmoh, Shivam Chandra, Chief Education Officer, Mohammad Shabir Chief Agriculture Officer, Monohar Lal, Tehsildar Panthachowk, Rakib Ahmad, besides Officers of PHE, PDD and R&B, RDD and other concerned Departments.
