POONCH TODAY NEWS

POONCH: Thanks to the weak approach of police and civil administration, a few employees have become political leaders and are seen interfering in sensitive issues by using the names of ruling party leaders. They are also seen supporting those involved in anti-national activities openly on social media platforms, but unfortunately, they were not taken to task for their brazen dereliction of duties.

It is important to mention here that, over the years, the majority of police and civil officers tried their best to create differences between various sections of society for their personal career gains, and due to this divide and rule culture, those people with no ground existence were given top priority by the officers sitting at the helm of affairs. Many low-rung employees of district administration Poonch, who were given undue hype by successive failed administrations, have become “Mungari lal’s” and consider themselves VIPs. At a social and political level, they are considered boot-licking people with an eye to settling personal scores, and the strange thing is that even some people in the political class give them a hand at the back. Ignoring duties remained a routine activity for such officials in the Poonch administration because the district administration, over the years, never took action against such government employees, who are known for their “selfie with officers” culture. Some employees have become political leaders and are seen openly attending political activities in addition to poking their nose into the affairs of the police and civil administration, but the shocking thing is that the police and civil administration have failed to punish them for their open violations of civil service rules. In the same way, the district administration has also selected some people and branded them as prominent citizens. At the individual level, these so-called prominent citizens have no prominence in the eyes of the common man, but the million-dollar question is on what basis the administration branded them as prominent citizens. Nearly 85% of existing members of the so-called “prominent citizens or civil society” club are people who are known for sycophancy only. Mostly, these so-called prominent citizens or self-made civil societies never raised issues of public importance, but they are in this accidental group only to win favor with the administration and to settle personal scores. During visits by top UT machinery, these people used to sing songs of praise in support of the administration. These people who are projecting themselves as so-called prominent citizens must think that they are actually nothing more than a usable product for the shrewd officers.  This culture needs to be stopped, and those government officials who are involved in political activities and used to threaten officers by using the names of ruling party leaders need strong doses from high-ups in the best interest of duties in favor of the public because, in a democracy, every government employee is a servant of the public and not a so-called VIP, said a senior citizen, pleading anonymity.
