RAJOURI: As Pakistan and its agencies are hell bent on disturbing the Rajouri-Poonch region through terrorism and drug terrorism, which has almost captured every area, Nowshera police have shown some strong reaction against drug peddlers by recovering a huge quantity of heroin a few days ago, which is nearly 10 kg. Three narcotics smugglers were arrested who were involved in this trade for a long time, and they were identified as Naveen Kumar, Sukhwinder Singh, and Davinder.

All three smugglers were arrested in Makri village, which is located near the LOC in the Nowshera sector. The vehicles that were involved in this whole operation were also seized under the NDPS Act by the Nowshera police. Police officials have started the investigation, and it is likely that all the forward and backward links will be detected and further action under the law will be initiated. It is important to mention here that, on the directions of DIG R-P range and SSP Rajouri, a strategy was formed to form better coordination with the people living near the LOC, and as a result, the people of the area cooperated with the police by providing sufficient leads about drug smuggling activities. Acting on strong inputs, SDPO Nowshera Jaswant Singh and SHO Nowshera Sumit Magotra arrested the three smugglers, and recovered nearly 10 kg of heroin. Both the police officers are in action mode, as they reportedly have been working overtime to detect drug modules in the area, and due to their tough stance, drug peddlers are finding it hard to smuggle drugs openly. Drug terrorism has become the biggest challenge for police and intelligence agencies in the Rajouri-Poonch region, as many youngsters have lost their lives due to overdoses. In the majority of pockets in the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch, drugs are being sold like tomatoes, said a source linked to an agency. In fact, many DIGs and SSPs in the Rajouri-Poonch range earlier, failed to taste huge success in the war against drugs in the region, and this ultimately increased the confidence of those involved in this flourishing drug trade. Drug terrorism has become the concern of every single parent, as they have shown their safety concerns for their children. The way Nowshera police have been tackling drug cases is an eye-opener for all, and a similar strategy is required in every area of the R-P range to counter the ill designs of Pakistan to demolish the youth of the country through drug terrorism.
