POONCH: For the very first time in the last three decades, Kashmir witnessed a good rise in voting percentage during the parliamentary elections. Srinagar parliamentary constituency witnessed nearly 40% polling, while Baramulla constituency witnessed a massive 59% polling.

The newly created Anantnag-Rajouri parliamentary constituency, which is a part of both Jammu and Kashmir divisions, witnessed 53% polling, and this massive shift in the mindset of the people of Kashmir has shown that they have accepted the developmental doctrine of PM Modi. The credit for this massive success also goes to LG Manoj Sinha, Chief Secretary Atul Dullo, Chief Election Officer P.K. Pole, and DGP J&K Police R.R. Swain, as the election process with 58% total polling on five seats was completed peacefully in J&K with huge enthusiasm among the voters. The new generations of Kashmir have welcomed the Bharat democracy, and their enthusiasm has changed the world view of Kashmir. Earlier, major global powers questioned the existence of democracy in Kashmir, but the 2024 parliamentary elections will be written in the pages of history as momentous ones in J&K. Anti-Bharat forces operating within and outside the country tried their best to present a false picture of Kashmir by running fake narratives against the Bharat democracy, but all their propaganda failed brazenly as the people of Kashmir have silenced all those voices that were regularly targeting the democracy of Bharat. Nobody thought, even in dreams, that Kashmir would witness a sudden change in the mindset of the people after the abrogation of temporary articles 370 and 35-A. Major political parties in Kashmir tried their best to present a false narrative before the world that people have rejected the abrogation of Article 370, but now it has been proven that those were bluff statements of Kashmir-based political parties. The people of Kashmir are now happy with the peace and developmental scenario, and they have justified this fact with their massive participation in the electoral process. Security forces also did a marvelous job, as the election process in the entire J&K passed off peacefully without any single incident of violence. Pakistan, which tried its best to dodge the whole world on the Kashmir issue, has been stunned by the change in scenario in Kashmir due to the PM Modi-led developmental policies. A common Kashmiri now realizes that traditional Kashmir-based political parties misused them for their petty political interests and denied the common man peace and development on the ground. The rise in voting percentage in Kashmir is a clear indication that the people of Kashmir are ready to take forward steps to be a part of the flourishing democracy of Bharat. At the same time, it’s a massive slap on the faces of all anti-national forces who tried hard to disturb peace in the country through their fake narratives. Their massive efforts to paint the wrong picture of the Union government have failed on all fronts. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has also said that the peaceful polls in J&K with the huge rise in voting percentage are a success of PM Modi’s government policy and assured that statehood will be restored after the assembly elections. With this massive shift in the mindset of Kashmiri people, the confidence of the government of Bharat has increased by all means, and it is likely that the government will further accelerate the process of development to make it an ideal tourist destination in addition to eliminating the remnants of militancy.
