POONCH TODAY NEWS
POONCH: “Har shaakh pe ullu betha hai, anjame gulistan kya hoga”. This couplet fits here as far as working of SVEEP team and academy of Art, Culture and languages, sub office Rajouri was concerned as huge funds amounting to Rs 18 lacs were misused. The whole episode which was presented by this newspaper in there parts has shown that how brazen violation of rules took place as few tainted government officials played havoc with state exchequer. Few individuals were given out of the way benefits. No record was formed and payments were made in a haphazard manner. CEO Poonch and Cultural Officer were main players who were involved in this episode, which has given massive shock to everybody that how few government officials were openly involved in this fraud as there was no system of check and balance. When “POONCH TODAY” published the stories with accurate details, few people even threatened this newspaper, but their plan to curb the truthful voice failed. This is a question of peoples faith in the institution of governance and if government fails to conduct an inquiry into the matter, then the institution of governance will not be trusted anymore in the eyes of a common man. Although, two inquires were started on the directions of Governor’s grievances cell, but it would be interesting to see whether those enquiries will lead to a logical conclusion or not. The arrogance of tainted officials who played havoc with state exchequer needs to be dealt with iron hands to give a lesson to others that those who will misuse government funds will be brought to justice. Will government take any action against the corrupt culprits of SVEEP fraud? Let’s wait and see the reaction of justice.
