132 kv transmission likely to be completed soon, Payment issues have been resolved: DC Poonch

POONCH: Much awaited work on 132 kv transmission line is expected to be completed within six months as the other day, during visit of Commissioner PDD Hirdesh Kumar, all pending issues were cleared. Commissioner PDD had a review of progress on 132KV line, installation of 50 MVA transformer at Draba, progress on works undergoing under DDU, PMDP(U) and IPDS. DDC Poonch Rahul Yadav accompanied the Commissioner PDD. During the visit, Commissioner was apprised that payment issues on 132KV line and 50 MVA transformer at Draba has been resolved. Work on 132 KV line is expected to be completed by year end and 50 MVA transformer shall be installed by end of Aug 2019, officials said. This will improve system voltage issues in district Poonch to a large extent, they added. Commissioner hoped that with the completion of Parnai Hydro project and completion of 132 KV line, Poonch will be self sufficient for Power by 2022. While talking to “POONCH TODAY”, DC Poonch Rahul Yadav, said, “ Payments issues have been resolved and money flow will start in next few days. After that PGCIL is suppose to expedite the work”. It is pertinent to mention here that 132 kv line is most prestigious project for the district and always considered as a lifeline of Poonch district. The said line suffered damages twice, once in 2012 and second time during September 2014 floods. 132 kv line was provided to Poonch district when late Mufti Sayeed was Chief Minister during his first tenure.
