J&K BJP leaders not trustworthy in the eyes of Union government, Groupism, corruption major concerns; Search for new faces on

JAMMU: At a time when J&K has been converted into two union territories with union government is busy in reorganization of the state and is making new laws, large number of J&K BJP leaders have reportedly lost their faith in the eyes of Union government as there are huge reports that J&K BJP has been divide into various groups. Highly placed sources told “POONCH TODAY” pleading anonymity that those leaders who lost their status of MLC are silently opposing union government’s decision. Meanwhile, the party is divide into many factions and few factions are not happy with state president and general secretary on various issues. Few days back, party organized a program to pay tributes to Late Arun Jaitley in BJP headquarters and that wrongly managed show raised eyebrows on unity within BJP with many BJP Leaders who were sitting in middle and last rows were seen spitting venom on recent constitutional changes made by the union government in national interest. One leader was saying to his friend sitting next to him in a silent way, “I lost my constitutional chair and high command took this decision without consulting us. Are we not trustworthy in the eyes of high command?” There are also reports that high command is not happy with the performance of large number of state BJP leaders who are facing allegation of huge corruption, when in power during PDP-BJP regime. Many BJP legislators and minister have lost public faith also and due to their tainted attitude, party’s reputation has suffered a lot. Sources close to “POONCH TODAY” said that high command is not consulting J&K BJP leadership on various important matters after recent constitutional changes on Art 370 and 35 A, because J&K BJP is no more trustworthy in the eyes of high command. There are also reports that BJP high command has planned a new leadership for BJP and in this connection, party has silently started looking for honest and visionary leaders in BJP for future role in JK politics. Insiders in BJP told “POONCH TODAY” that party high command is also mulling an action against those ex BJP ministers and legislators who were involved in major corrupt practices, when in power, to clean the party’s image in J&K. It is pertinent to mention here that Jammu region remained a strong hold of BJP and in the last assembly election, party won 25 seats. Despite of huge win from Jammu region, majority of ex BJP ministers failed to come up to the expectations of the people on many issues. A time also came during BJP-PDP rule that Jammu people were seen openly criticizing BJP ministers and accused them of indulging in brazen corruption. A powerful BJP leader, who was denied mandate in 2014, told “POONCH TODAY”, “Our party’s ministers broke all records in corruption and lost public faith, so our party’s high command is not happy with them. I heard that to clean the party’s image in J&K, high command will take tough decisions in near future and I welcome such decision because above and all, nation is supreme and we need honest BJP cadre for the future under the able leadership of Modi ji and Amit Shah Ji”.
