Traffic Police officials run after bikes only and not against rash driving of buses; Many youngsters died in bike accidents recently

POONCH/RAJOURI/JAMMU: Getting hafta from Sumo walas, Truck walas and charging light vehicles including Bikers has become a regular routine of a few traffic police officials deputed in various districts of Jammu region, but none of the traffic officials was taking  action against rash driving of buses which sometimes led to fatal accidents of bikers. On many occasions, traffic police used to organize many programs aimed at giving education about traffic rules to people, but in taking action against rash driving of buses and tractors, they feel helpless, a reason best known to traffic authorities.   Sachin Sharma, studying Post Graduation, while talking to “POONCH TODAY”, said, “I used to travel by buses between Poonch and Jammu and many times, I saw very rash driving of bus drivers, but surprising fact was that during my last two years of journey in buses, I never saw any single traffic police personal stopping the bus and taking stern action against the driver for rash driving” added “They are only expert in getting haft from Light vehicles. Even rash driving of tractors is never taken to task mostly either by police or by traffic police.” Simranjeet Singh, a businessman, said, “Traffic police and police personnel run after bikers only, but nobody is ready to take action on rash driving of vehicles. Because of no action, we have witnessed many deaths on account of bike accidents.” In Jammu city also, many Matadors are seen indulging in rash driving, but they pay traffic police officials regularly, that’s why, they never face tough action, and as a result, Jammu city also witnesses many bike accidents.” Traffic police authorities who are sitting at the helm of affairs need to formulate a strategy for checking rash driving of vehicles on various routes from Jammu to Poonch to ensure reduction in accidents, feel locals.
