POONCH/JAMMU: For years, a large number of employees in J&K were found engaging in anti national acts, including spitting venom on social media sites about the policies of national interest that were brought by the Union and the J&K governments. These employees, who had the shelter of Kashmir based political parties for years, were never taken to task by any regime in J&K and at the centre.

It is a well-known fact that India has faced threats from two well-known external sources for a long time, but the biggest threat to the country appears to be from internal enemies who are present everywhere and appear to have a cross-border agenda. During the last eight years, the nation has witnessed many acts from such wrong forces that were fully against the interests of the nation. The biggest shocking factor is that a large number of government employees in J&K were found supporting a particular narrative that stands against the country and policies of the government. Former Governor of J&K, Satya Pal Malik, once said in November 2019 that the biggest threat to Kashmir is from a meticulous ideology, and more than 20% of employees of that ideology work in the civil secretariat. Some government employees and high-ranking officers were frequently seen targeting the union government and those in the media who advocate for the truth and national interest. These employees were never seen reacting to all anti-national acts, including the killing of locals, police officers, and army personnel, but they wasted no opportunity to disrupt peace and express their anger against the policies of the J&K and Union governments through social media platforms by violating civil service rules at will. Some JKAS officers even described and supported the narrative that terrorists are “freedom fighters.” Particularly, a large number of employees from the Education and Higher Education departments were seen indulging in a social media war against the nation, and some are still active. It’s a well-known fact that the policy of the enemy nation and anti India lobby is to use every available means in India to impress writers, thinkers, academicians, important chairs, journalists, political leaders, social figures, and people from different areas of life who are following a meticulous ideology to start working against India in different capacities by setting every type of wrong narrative against India on the social media sites. But the time has changed now, as the other day, the J&K government directed all administrative secretaries to have a check on social media sites and also identify employees who are making unfavourable comments on the government’s policies. In this regard, Chief Secretary J&K UT Dr. Arun Mehta issued the necessary circular, and the people viewed the government’s action positively. Locals have said that it seems that the J&K UT government, under the leadership of Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, has decided to wage war against the traitors. Earlier, many employees were terminated from the service for their anti-national acts, and many more are likely to be terminated. In various districts, a large number of government employees are seen running social media news platforms and WhatsApp news groups by openly violating the civil service rules, and the biggest shocking factor is that they are doing this with the full knowledge and support of the administration. In many districts, police officers are seen assisting some government employees who run social media news channels to promote police and civil administrations. On the one hand, the government has issued a circular to keep a check on employees’ conduct regarding government policies on social media sites, but on the other hand, some government employees are seen running illegal social media news platforms and WhatsApp news groups with the full support of administrations in some districts, and it’s a complete act of violation of the law by the law enforcement agencies itself. There are reports that the intelligence agencies have been directed by the government to prepare a list of such employees who are openly violating the civil service rules. A high-level inquiry is needed from the government to identify such employees and others who are running the agenda of all forces that stand against the national interest. The decision of the LG’s administration to check the social media conduct of employees has been appreciated by one and all, and people have further requested that the LG J&K ensure that this decision reaches all corners. People also demanded action against those civil and police officers who fail to identify such employees who violate government employees’ social media conduct rules by running illegal social media news channels and groups that used to comment on government policies. This much-awaited and well-thought-out decision by J&K LG’s administration will demolish the anti-India lobby operating from different places in the government setup.
