JAMMU:  S Ranjeet Singh President DGPC Jammu along with S Balvinder Singh Vice President , S  Surjit Singh Gen Secretary, S  Ranvir Singh Jt Secretary, S Jagpal Singh Cashier,  S Harjit Singh, S Gurmeet Singh Incharge Dharam Parchar DGPC Jammu and S Tejinder Singh member DGPC and incharge implementation of Punjabi in J&K UT while addressing the press Conference, the other day,  expressed heartfelt  gratitude to Lieutenant Governor Sh. Manoj Sinha for implementing the Anand Karaj marriage act, addressing the longstanding demand of the Sikh community of J&K UT.

S R S Tohra  also extended thanks to individuals and  organizations that tirelessly advocated for implementation of Anand Marriage Act in J&K UT for a long time. He also acknowledged the instrumental role of S Iqbal Singh Lalpura,  Chairman of Minorities Commission, Government of India, in addressing the genuine demands of the Sikh community. Balvinder Singh Vice President besides, urging  upon the Government to consider other  most genuine and just demands of the Community lying pending for so many years, also urged upon those Sikh leaders who have their influence in the establishment to work for the implementation of long pending Sikh demands like Inclusion of Punjabi Language in J&K UT official Bill 2020, grant political reservation to Sikhs of J&K UT, to settle the long pending issues of refugees  of POJK, induction of sikh member in JKPSC, inclusion of Sikh youths of Kashmir in SRO 425, provide additional ex-gratia relief to the NOK’s of those killed in 1989 anti Sikh Riots, establishment of Minority Commission in J&K UT .  S Sujit Singh stated that though the amended version of Anand Marriage Act was passed in the Parliament on 7th June 2012 but it took 11 years to get it implemented in J&K UT.  S Paramjit Singh President DGPC Baramullah and S Nanak Singh president DGPC Anantnag also thanked J&K UT Administration and especially to Sh Manoj Sinha Honb’le Lieutenant Governor of J&K UT for implementing Anand Marriage and also highlighted the Role of DGPC of J&K UT in facilitating this implementation.

Other prominent persons of the community who  were S. Omkar Singh Vice chairman all J&k Labana Samaj, S. Narinder Singh Ji vice president Akhnoor, S. Satwant Singh, S. Parfult Singh, Tejinder Singh president Gurudwara Chatha farm , S Somnath Singh president Gurudwara guru Nanak nagar.
