COVID-19 vaccine likely to be available in J&K next month

POONCH: Towards the end of year 2020, efforts for providing COVID-19 vaccine to all are going on war footing and in this context, availability of the said vaccine to people of J&K is likely to be in January 2021.
Highly placed sources in the Directorate of health services Jammu, pleading anonymity told “POONCH TODAY” that government is keen to provide vaccine to the people of J&K sooner than later and all related efforts are going on after the announcement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, few days ago. Sources also said that the said vaccine will be available for health care professionals in the first instance and then later, the said vaccine will be available on priority purposes, before launching of big vaccination drive. It is pertinent to mention here that the year 2020 began with a shocking news of Corona virus that proved heavy throughout the world and towards the end of the year, people are hopeful to get the vaccine soon so that they could start living normal life again. Although, preparation at district level are also going on for proper distribution of vaccine, but there was no proper information on date of COVID-19 vaccine being available to all. Putting all speculations to rest, officials of health department have hinted that the availability of vaccine in J&K would be a reality next month, however, there is no official confirmation yet.
